Perfect for 1-4 friends/ family members Nestled in the trees @ 4200 ft- away from the hustle & bustle, yet close to everything in the high country. 1/2 mi off Tynecastle across from Sugar Mtn. Winter views & summer serenity. Sleep in. Relax. Read. Play. Hike. Shred. Pan for gold. Tune in on Wi-Fi if you must. But we recommend you sit on the porch, enjoy a refreshing beverage & listen to the stream. The space Only 1/2 mile up a state-maintained, dead-end gravel road (= it is a little bumpy, but you should not need 4x4 except in winter), you will find it convenient to get to our 950 sq-ft downstairs unit which offers a little space for you to get away from it all. Our house is set up like a duplex - this unit is downstairs. Built in the mid-1970s (with a few updates to kitchen/bath, etc) it is simple, with just the basics, but think you’ll find it comfortable and a great home-base for exploring. Less than 2 miles away at Sugar Mtn. you can Mountain bike, play a round of golf or hit some tennis balls (in summer), or ski/snowboard, tube, and ice skate (in winter). Beech Mtn. is only 7 miles away and offers much of the same and they have an awesome brewery & 5506 mountain top bar too! Banner Elk also has a brewery and winery within 10 min. of the house, and there are several others within 15-25 minutes. If you’re hungry ~15 restaurants of all varieties are within a 5-10 min. drive, and if entertainment is what you’re after, there are plays, live music, and even some ridiculous karaoke to enjoy, with events happening many nights of the week. Guest access You will have full access to the downstairs of our house, which includes an open den/dining/kitchen area, 2 bedrooms and a bath. The house is set up like a duplex. The unit upstairs that has a completely separate driveway & entrance from downstairs, so although you will have the downstairs living spaces all to yourself, you may hear footsteps from us or our guests in the upstairs unit. There’s space for you to park only 1 car, and a peaceful deck where you can chill. Other things to note Well behaved, house trained dogs allowed upon approval. No cats or other pets allowed. If we have confirmed that your pup can stay with you during your trip, you will be charged a pet fee of $25/day/pup that we will collect from you through the AirBnB resolution center after we accept the reservation but before your trip.  You are required to ensure your pup is well behaved, does not bark while inside, stays off furniture, is crated if you leave him/her alone, doesn’t chew anything that is not your property, is fully housebroken, and is up-to-date on all shots and flea and tick medicine. You will need to ensure your pup only uses the bathroom outside in our yard and you must pick-up/bag all waste. Additionally, your pup must be leashed at all times (Want to make sure they stay safe).
