Vecgulbenes muiža

Located on the outskirts of the historic town of Gulbene in Northeastern Latvia, about 112 mi from Riga, this hotel occupies a lovingly renovated manor from the 19th century. Vecgulbenes muiža offers comfortable rooms with antique furniture and beautiful carpets, each with its own colors and atmosphere. Some rooms have fragments of the original masonry walls. There are also hostel rooms available. Formerly known as Alt-Schwanenburg, the estate includes 2 castles. The White Palace was built in the 1840s as one of the most splendid examples of Historicism in the Baltics. It now houses the hotel. The Red Palace now houses a school. Both buildings were destroyed and rebuilt several times. Vecgulbenes muiža is surrounded by a beautiful park ideally suited for pleasant walks and bicycle rides. There is a sofa and soft chairs.
