Description

A romantic unconventional room with an elevated, enclosed Queen size bed. One of five completely private rooms, all with private bathrooms in our beautiful 1907 Craftsman Bungalow - garden hot tub, large stone wood-burning fireplace, delicious locally sourced/grown herbs, fruits/veggies, wild smoked salmon and sustainably produced meats for breakfast. Close to town/Eastsound. Note: We love kids, but this is not a good setting for them. The space Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful, historic craftsman bungalow that has been accommodating guests coming to Orcas Island since 1907. The Nuthatch Room is an adorable cozy room with an elevated (you step up and into it.) queen size bed in a private sleeping chamber enclosed on three sides. It is great for romantic couples, but not well suited for the mobility impaired. We are only one mile from shops and restaurants - 1/4 mile from North Beach. We have two rooms with Queen sized beds and three rooms with King size beds. All have ensuite private bathrooms. Take a soak in our lovely garden Hot Tub, Large Deck, Porch, and Living Room with huge wood burning fireplace. Delicious homemade organic breakfast Included. Based on 1 or 2 guests, *An additional guest could be added to the Nuthatch room for an additional $35 + tax. We serve a full, 3 course organic breakfast with many foods and ingredients grown right here on Orcas. Central Location in Eastsound, in the very center of the island, one mile from the shops and restaurants. Let us know if you can't find the dates that you need. Guest access You'll have access to the living room, library, dining room porch and deck, back garden, hot tub, everything except our personal area and the kitchen. Check-in after 2:30PM. We don’t require you to check-in by a certain time. Please feel free to arrive at any time after 2:30 pm. If we happen to be out running errands, hiking, or otherwise enjoying the island, we will leave a note and room key for you in the front room. Please make yourself at home. Tea and cocoa are always available. You can sign up for a time in the hot tub, curl up with a book from our library, relax in the inn and gardens, or go explore the island. Orcas Island is an easy-going, low crime place, but please don't leave super valuable items unattended. We don't have a safe and don't want to be responsible for your grandmother's brooch. Check-out by 11:00AM please. During your stay We generally spend time with our guests when they check in, perhaps in the evening if they are enjoying a fire or whatnot, and for a nice while at and after breakfast if you want to hang out with us. But if you have places to go and things to do, that's fine, too. Other things to note There is another Airbnb listing for a room with a queen sized bed and three for ones with a King size bed. If you have a group of 3 or 4, we might have a room with more than one bed for all of you. It might be best to give us a call at Kangaroo House B&B or send an email on airbnb to see if the rooms that could accommodate more than 2 are available. $35 added for each guest over two people in a room.
