Description

Come enjoy the best side of Bodega Bay in the updated 1Bed/1Bath Harbor House at Sandy Goat Farms. Located on the west side of the harbor, our coastal farmhouse sits on our couple acres at the end of a private drive with only the Bodega Dunes State Park between you and the ocean. It's a 5 minute stroll to award winning clam chowder and the Spud Point Marina. Walk right from the property through the fields or hike our secret path over the dunes to Salmon Creek Beach or even to Bodega Head. The space The Harbor House offers a blend of rustic tradition and modern amenities with a touch of nautical charm. Soaring ceilings, exposed wood beams, and warm afternoon light provide a classic comfortable California Coast living, complete with a queen bed with soft duvets, firmer and softer pillow options, and oversized bath sheets. Settle in for cozy mornings or evenings in the club chairs by the fire with you tea or coffee (we have a nespresso, french press, and electric kettle). Enjoy Sonoma County’s wines on the balcony watching the sky turn pink during sunset and stargazing afterwards. Use our tree lined lawn and picnic table as your own private park or meander just off the property strolling through the Bodega Dunes State Park or back along the private driveway to look at the wells. Our couple of acres is west of Highway 1, set back from the road down our private driveway without neighbors on three sides making nature your extended backyard. While we don’t have any farm animals at Sandy Goat Farms (yet), you'll often see our resident quail and visiting wild turkeys, deer, heron, hawks, owls, and the occasional bobcat passing through the lawn or exploring the cypress trees that line our property. The Harbor House is the perfect home base if you’re looking to experience classic Bodega Bay and explore the coastline. Fishermen's Cove, Spud Point Marina, and Spud Point Crab Company with its award winning clam chowder are all only a 5 minute walk down the block. If you walk through the cypress trees you will immediately be strolling through the open fields of Bodega Dunes State Park. Our private driveway leads out to several wells and our secret path over the dunes to the southernmost part of Salmon Creek Beach (30 minute hike). You’ll be let out miles away from the public beach entrance so it will generally be just you, the crashing waves, and stunning sunsets. If you’re an ambitious hiker, you can even follow the trails all the way to Bodega Head and back! Other things to note - The house does not have central heating or air conditioning. There is a electric fireplace that keeps the upstairs cozy. - We permit the water folks to access the property for well maintenance. They will only be on the road where the well heads are located and will not bother you. - Depending on the time of year, we may be on the property in our expedition vehicle (far away from the house). Additionally, our horses and friendly farm pups may be there too. We keep to ourselves and respect our guests’ privacy. You may see Katherine riding in the arena or to the beach. Just ask if we’ll be around if you’re worried!
