Description
This custom mid-century style home (an original Jordan River residence) is tucked in amongst 2 acres of rainforest and beautifully landscaped food gardens. Our unique Westcoast hideaway features wrap-around decks for sun all day, a woodstove, radiant floor heating, and a covered bar for hosting. A short walk down our private trail will have you at the ocean for breathtaking sunsets. We are walking distance to K2 beach, China Beach, and Jordan River beach (with the Cold shoulder cafe). The space The rental is private access and self-contained; the owners have a suite below but come and go; the other community members are discrete and value their privacy as much as you do but are always happy to help or offer local tips! This whimsical community project features a central home blending rugged Westcoast appeal with an arts & crafts architectural pedigree. Nestled amongst 2 acres of rainforest with trails to the beach that wind through terraced food gardens and mushroom patches, it’s a forager's delight. Art installations and beachcomber aesthetics inspire the inner child to have fun and dream of sails, sun, and big swells. The Boatyard got its name from the fact that the owners love to sail, and have rebuilt and repurposed several sailboats on the lot in the past. We even rebuilt the house itself! A heritage home from Jordan River- it was going to be demolished when we moved it up here to its new home, stripped her down, and rebuilt her in the original style with modern materials. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the main floor, two bedroom rainforest cottage with the above-mentioned amenities, with trail-to-beach and creek access. Old-growth cedar decks surround the space with a covered patio lounge, seating, and hot tub to take in the rainforest view. We also have an amazing wood-fired sauna (please reach out to ask if this is accessible during your stay) Guests have the main space to themselves, and the owners occupy the separate ground-level suite on occasion. Other things to note As we said, it’s wild out here. Please plan ahead and bring all your foodstuffs and drinks on your way with you. Also, rain boots are a safe bet to pack most of the year... it’s a rainforest after all. We have a backup generator for the winter storm season, and are on satellite internet so kindly request no wifi streaming, get outside and put down the device ;) We are a shared property, so you may see folks in the garden at times, hear children laughing from the forest, or see us working on the trails. We understand and value privacy as much as you do and have taken great efforts to make your stay as unobtrusive as possible. P.s. Please be mindful that we have a $50 pet charge for furry babies joining for adventures. Registration Details Municipal registration number: H466215732 Provincial registration number: H466215732
