Travel parties of up to 4 guests without pets are welcome to book! MAXIMUM Night Occupancy is the number stated in your reservation for up to 4 guests (including (children/infants). Unauthorized overnight guests will be charged to the reservation at $500/person and will result in immediate eviction of all guests. LIMITED, INFREQUENT daytime visitors. Maximum day occupancy (6) people total (including children/infants). Excess family/friends will need to meet Starfish guests at the beach/restaurant plus use public restroom and shower facilities or rent their own beach house/hotel. We rent to travel parties of 1-4guests. IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE, RENT A LARGER PROPERTY! We will not risk our city permit for over-occupancy violations. Typical Starfish Cottage Day: Walk 1 short block to the beach for sunrise, enjoy a cup of Keurig brewed coffee or tea on the large private front patio, shower in the elegant, cozy bathroom, and watch your beloved team or movie on the 55" Smart TV in the living room or the 32" Smart TV in the bedroom, use provided beach chairs and boogie boards to get lots of sand between your toes, BBQ on the natural gas grill or walk a block maybe two to a fantastic restaurant, watch the sunset, and read followed by sleep on a comfortable clean bed. The next day hit repeat with a few changes for variety. This is NOT a party place! Our home is smoke and drug-free. We live a few houses away and these policies are strictly enforced. Out of respect to our neighbors, the patio closes at 10 pm. Minimum age to rent is 25 years old. Parents NO renting for grads, 21st, Spring Break, birthdays, etc. The renter must stay at the property for the duration of the stay. Starfish Cottage contents and amenities are for the exclusive use of PAYING reservation guests. Best suited for 1-4 guests including families with older children (8+). Meals, snacks, and drinks are to be enjoyed at the indoor or outdoor table. The city of Newport Beach occupancy tax of 10% is included in the nightly rate for your stay. You will have access to the entire house and front patio with BBQ and outdoor dining table that seats four. We live across the street. Close enough when you need us, but far enough away for your privacy. When we are able, you will be personally greeted with a cottage tour. We are always available for phone calls and texts. There is a house manual that provides recommendations for restaurants, shopping, local attractions and much more. We are happy to answer any questions that come up during your stay! There are many fun things to do and places to go in our local area. A house manual located on the coffee table contains our local recommendations and favorite places. Closest airport is John Wayne (SNA) approximately 6 miles away. LAX is about 45 miles away. A car is not needed. Plenty of Uber drivers on standby in our area ready to take you to your destination. Located in the "sweet spot" of the Balboa Peninsula. Guests are able to walk everywhere (beach, bay, Newport Pier, Pavilions Grocery Store, 7-11, Starbucks, restaurants for every taste bud, shopping, activity rental shops). Short car ride with easy access to freeways for visits to Disneyland, Fashion Island, South Coast Plaza, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, The Getty Center Museum, Legoland and many other Southern California attractions. Starfish Cottage is reserved on a "first to book" basis. Multiple inquiries may be received for a given time period. A 10% occupancy tax due to the city of Newport Beach is included in the nightly and weekly rates. Stays over 30 days do not require the occupancy tax. There are two friendly, quiet professionals that are long term tenants in the back units of our home. You may never see or hear them but good to be aware they are on the property.
