The space Our accommodation is part of the larger Ruma River Lodge, a tented camping facility located away from the bustling city in Homabay County. This is an ideal choice for travellers looking for eco-friendly accommodation, but you don’t need to be a tent or camping enthusiast to enjoy staying in our premises. Our tents are simply furnished with ensuite hot showers, private toilets and sink area. The tents are also covered by traditional Makuti roofs that further reduce their exposure to rain and direct sunlight. Each tent is designed with a balcony area for guests to enjoy the views of the surrounding rolling savannah and towering cliffs that overlook the Ruma National Park. We have an onsite restaurant that offers local meals on our menu and any additional meals upon request. 95% of all our foods are grown within the property by our attentive staff, so you’re assured of real authentic taste. We have ample parking space in the guarded premises for drive-in guests. If you’re within Homabay, we can also organize to have a shuttle pick you up to our premises at a small additional fee. We are less than 2 km from Ruma National Park  and about 9km from the Mirogi Centre. The roads to the property are easily accessible dirt roads.
