The Wonderly Wagon, cosy and snug all year round

Step back in time and experience something very unique: A traditional bow top gypsy caravan set in a woodland in the Donegal hills totally off the beaten track. Lovingly restored to a high standard you feel cosy and snug in the midst of nature. Please note: The wagon is a tiny house on wheels and can host up to 2 adults with up to 2 children. The space You will find an original horse drawn gypsy wagon which is now set on a meadow under mature trees. When you book please bear in mind it is a tiny house on wheels! Newly refurbished in December 2025, the beds are now much wider than in the original wagon as we made the wagon longer. It is one of the few wagons left in Ireland to rent. The caravan will sleep a family up to four: 2 adults and 2 children with two wide double beds. The adult bed on top is 1.87m long, the one below is shorter, about 1.52m long. The Wonderly Wagon is very well insulated and has modern amenities like running water, cooker, fridge, kettle toaster and a microwave and can be heated with a modern wall-mounted electric heater which makes it always warm and cosy whatever the weather. It comes with its own private bathroom a few steps away from the wagon. We have a farm producing our own veg and herbs in surrounding gardens, where we also have a small herbal tea production. It is a very quiet and peaceful location with streams, lakes and forests all around in the hills of Donegal. Guest access You will find a nice selection of board-games and books (also for the Little ones) in the gypsy wagon for the rainy days. There is no toilet or shower in the gypsy wagon itself but there are bathroom facilities with shower and toilets only a few steps away. You also have access to all the gardens with relaxing places to enjoy nature. There's is a place for a campfire in the garden. (Guests will have to provide their own wood). The wagon is one part of our little glamping space. Close to the wagon is a wooden Lodge with own facilities. Guests will just share the outside places, but there is plenty of space in the garden of everybody. Other things to note We offer free Wifi, but please notice it is not fast and can be intermittent. It is provided with a mobile dongle shared between the Wagon and the Forest Lodge. In our rural setting we don't have access to 5G broadband.
