Old Barn Cottage

Our cosy cottage is a perfect base to explore Connemara. Enjoy our wood burning stove, underfloor heating, wet-room, pine furniture and leather two seater, 4 ring hob & oven, fridge, washing machine & microwave, a library, TV/DVD & garden sunroom with decking area. It is a perfect retreat for Couples and Solo Travellers especially, and a complimentary home cooked meal will be included at no extra cost for all those single guests travelling alone, if they wish. The space Old Barn Cottage is located on our small farm overlooking a lake to the front and the 12 Pins Mountain Range to the rear. Its very secluded and is the perfect location to explore the Connemara rugged coastline and the Wild Atlantic Way. Visit Clifden, Westport, Galway City, Cliffs of Moher, Inisboffin and the Aran Islands or why not sample our beautiful local beaches and take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean or go hiking in the mountains, which lie close to Carna. The local walking group meet every weekend and visitors would be welcome to join them. Guest access Guests are able to park outside the cottage. They can avail of WiFi at the cottage. They also have a large area to the rear of the cottage containing a garden and decking area, where they can use a charcoal barbeque and garden furniture. There is a patio area to the front of the cottage overlooking the lake. However, the lake is not accessible to visitors. Other things to note A car is advisable, but you can use public transport to reach us Monday to Saturday inclusive. The village is 5km walk, where there are grocery shops, ATM, Petrol Station, Post Office, Pharmacy/Doctor, Hotel and local Pubs serving food & drink. We offer our guests the use of two bikes at no extra charge, for the duration of their stay. There is also a Taxi service in the village if you wish to go for a drink in local bars and leave your car behind. If you want to use our BBQ we supply firelighters and tools. You should bring your own Charcoal.
