Quiet secluded home with ocean view
Quiet secluded home with ocean view
Description
Lovely secluded home surrounded by forest with ocean views, with nearby beach towns that have everything one might need or desire, including many excellent restaurants, beaches, banks, shops, supermarkets, etc.. The space Lovely 72 m2 cottage with about 50 m2 of deck facing the ocean in VERY quiet location. There is a splendid ocean view looking over ONLY pine and eucalyptus forest. Ocean is 4 km, 1/2 hour walking on untransited road direct to beach, or about 7 minutes in car to either Algarrobo or Isla Negra (one of Pablo Neruda's homes). House is two bedroom (one large, one smaller) both with double-size beds, 1 double size sofa bed in living room, large well stocked kitchen also with ocean view, and two bathrooms. This is the place to go if you want quiet rest and relaxation. Walking in the area is pleasant and safe, with little or no vehicular traffic. The climate is very pleasant, with cool summers (and generally, pleasantly warm afternoons) and cool clear winter days and cooler to cold nights. The house is heated with a wood stove, wood provided free. There is a lovely clean and large beach about 7 minutes by car from the house in Punta de Tralca between Isla Negra and El Quisco. In the other direction, Algarrobo is also 7 minutes from house and offers a range of good restaurants, supermarkets, banks, gas stations, etc.. There are also services available in El Quisco, which can also be reached by walking down the direct road ("Huaillilemu"), which can be observed on map. This road, which is closed to vehicular traffic to reach the cabin from the coast, passes through pine and eucalyptus forest, has no vehicular traffic except in El Quisco proper, so it's a pleasant 1/2 hour walk to the beach. Taxi's are available to take one back to the house for about U.S.$6.50, should one not wish to return walking. There is a gas BBQ available for use. Minimum 2 day rental. Guest access Guests have access to everything in the house, including a very well-stocked mostly English language library, the decks, and surrounding green areas, paths, roads, forests, etc. The area is very safe, and there are two padlocked gates that one normally passes through to get to the property from the paved road, which is the road that passes between Algarrobo and El Totoral. Other things to note Internet and telephone: The cabin has WiFi for basic internet and email, but is not suitable for downloading movies or other large files, or watching a large quantity of videos, as my wireless internet service provider places a monthly cap on the quantity of downloaded data. Once the monthly data limit is exceeded, the internet will continue to work, but between 6:00pm and 2:00am, the service will get slower. Wireless reception for both voice and data services is excellent at the house with local carriers such as Entel, Movistar, and Claro. There is no "regular" telephone in the house, as only cellular service is available.
