The King's Falconry

Built in 1680 on the orders of King Louis XIV, La Fauconnerie du Roy is a legendary residence that bears witness to a royal art: the falconry of kings. The landscaped park, leisure facilities (ping pong table, swing, slide), and the pool and its equipment (deck chairs and umbrellas) are shared with the guests of the 2 guest rooms located in the main building where the owners live. Farm animals on site (Border Collie sheepdogs, free-range chickens). An Ouessant sheep and 2 dwarf goats are on a farmland plot adjacent to the landscaped park. Other things to note Montainville is one of the most beautiful villages in the Yvelines. It is a feudal-style village overlooking the Mauldre Valley. There are no shops except for a village inn located 50 m away, which is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The nearest shopping center (INTERMARCHE supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, hairdresser, tobacco shop, pizzeria, wine shop) is located 5 minutes by car, 40 minutes on foot, in Mareil sur Mauldre. The nearest SNCF train station is located in Mareil sur Mauldre, 2.5 km away in the direction of Paris Montparnasse, 50 minutes away.
