Constance Bay Sandy Beach Paradise/Winter Retreat

Welcome to beautiful Constance Bay, a little piece of paradise only 20 minutes from Kanata, and 45 minutes to downtown Ottawa. This magical, beautifully renovated 3 bed, 1 bath, 1100 sqft cottage is on the Ottawa River, with a sandy waterfront with gradual entry, perfect for both young and old. The space The cottage has been fully renovated top to bottom, with no expense spared. There are new huge windows overlooking the Sandy Beach and water with Gatineau Hills in the backdrop. Quartz countertops in the open-concept kitchen (open to both dining and living room) with brand new (March 2023) side-by-side fridge and freezer, large bathroom with separate toilet area, beautiful furniture, and luxurious beds. The list goes on and on. This is not your typical cottage; this is more like a beautiful Pinterest home with a fabulous waterfront. There are three bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed and dresser OR closet. There is one large bathroom with a five foot walk-in shower, two sink faucets, makeup vanity table, separate toilet area, and plenty of storage. All linens are provided (up to 6 guests) to make your vacation as easy as possible. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need. Everything is updated including a brand new stainless steel side-by-side fridge and freezer, stove, microwave and different types of coffee-makers. The water is drinkable in this cottage as we have a softener and UV light for added measures. The main area of the cottage is completely open concept to allow you to interact with your guests from anywhere. The master bedroom and dining room each have a patio door leading you out onto the large deck and hot tub area. A porch swing sits on a second deck so you can sit and enjoy the view of the water. A fire pit sits in the middle of the yard, so you can sit out all night and enjoy the fresh breeze off the bay. But the main attraction is the scenic sandy beach of Constance Bay. Spend your day on your piece of the shoreline or just sit back in the hot tub and enjoy the view. For added convenience, there is a bar and restaurant a stone-throw away, as well as an LCBO, beer store, convenience store, and pharmacy within a 3 minute drive. Please note: Constance Bay is an adorable little beach town, but there isn’t a grocery store right there so please plan accordingly. The closest real grocery store is about 20 minutes away in Kanata (Sobeys on March Road). There are 3 restaurants that do amazing pizza, chinese/thai, and/or breakfast and a general store, LCBO/beer store, pharmacy, and ice cream place. Some guests have seemed shocked that the cottage isn’t right in downtown Ottawa with every city amenity imaginable, so I like to forewarn people in case you aren't familiar with the beautiful little town that is Constance Bay. Furthermore, this is country wifi so runs about 10 mbps at maximum download speeds. If you are looking to download TV shows/music etc, it will be much slower than the high speed internet you would find in the city. We do also have Bell Satellite TV, but please note it can be affected by rain, ice storms etc. We do not have a landline phone but cell phone reception is pretty good (but not perfect). Welcome to your home away from home! **** We carry proper rental insurance**** Guest access All areas are yours, with the exception of one closet in the master bedroom which we keep locked (it contains supplies for the cleaners). We also have things in the shed (ex. lawnmower, leaf blower etc) which is also where we keep the outside games and sand toys for guests Other things to note The cottage is on the waterfront. There is also a small parking lot beside the cottage (we have a big fence between it and the property). The beach and parking lot get busy in the summer, especially weekends. We have a Ductless wall A/C unit that has the ability to cool the entire cottage. Fans available in bedroom closet if needed. There is a 3-night minimum stay in December-February, 4-night minimum stay (March, April, October and November) and a 5 night minimum stay in May-end of September. The amount of sandy beach varies depending on the time of year (from potentially zero to 100 feet of sand before the water begins). There are sometimes burn bans in effect that we have no control over. Campfires and fireworks are not allowed if there is a burn ban in effect. BBQs are permissible. OUR CALENDAR IS UP TO DATE.
