Story of our vision for our Cozy County Cottage: This property was bought at auction, and my spouse and I had a dream to build our home ourselves. We decided to a “test run” by building the cottage to see if we could! We finished this cottage in 2019, made from 90% repurposed materials that we gathered over 2-3 years in anticipation of building. Lumber was purchased from, “Waste Not, Want Not”, and from, “Around Again: Making Waste a Resource.” Both are local used building materials stores. Drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, cabinets, cabinet pulls, concrete mix, lighting, tile and hot water tank was purchased from “Habitat For Humanity: ReStore”. We also purchased furniture items, appliances and other items from second hand stores, yard sales, marketplaces and up-cycle meets to construct this beautiful space. Please consider staying at our “Cozy Country Cottage.” :)
