Beautiful high peaked windows and glass doors, with a very large deck located in a forest of trees on the picturesque/historic Madeline Island, allow guests the feeling of going back in time. The stand alone cabin/house rental has 2 bedrooms with full size beds, one bedroom has it's own bathroom, another bathroom in the hall, kitchen/greatroom, partially covered wrap around deck with a picnic table and extra room to stroll around in privacy. The layout has 2 new full size pull out futons, and one fold out couch. It has all basic amenities, like a fully supplied kitchen, towels, sheets, bathroom supplies, even charcoal for the bbq grill, just bring your favorite food, drinks, and relax! The kitchen/greatroom that has a wooden island in the middle, large refrigerator, Keurig individual pod coffee maker, blender, toaster, electric skillet, stove top and oven. Fallen wood to gather nearby for the large outdoor fire pit. You should bring extra wood and dry paper if you plan on having larger fires. Two cats live with me in my Tiny house located in front of the cabin, plus we use an outside entrance to the cabin basement. Yet, your privacy is very important to me, I'll steer clear, but no guarantee that the cats won't visit during the day, they own the place. It's Airbnb unique! Perfect for two couples, families, groups, and explorers. If you're booking for someone else, that's not an Airbnb norm, and would have to be mentioned in order to be approved. You have an entrance with a double glass french door, along with numerous sliding glass doors that all open to the lofted deck. The back bedroom has it's own outside entrance. For CHECK IN please text me 30 minutes prior to you arrival, I'll typically be here to welcome you! Please allow me to be in contact with you via text on my cell phone as your booking approaches, since Madeline Island doesn't always get good internet or cell reception once you get off the ferry. Thus, it opens up another important outlet of communication, which can be rather important at times, particularly at check-in. Airbnb messaging usually works for me, but it does take longer to receive messages. Also, I try to welcome everyone to the island and my cabin, then it's all yours to enjoy to the fullest and contact me via text or messaging with any needs. My goal is to achieve 100% guest satisfaction! Most of my previous guests thouroughly enjoyed the cabin and space, but everyone doesn't fit the same mold, so please communicate with me to make your stay right for you. The cabin is located 1.3 miles from downtown La Pointe, so easy to walk, bicycle, or drive. There are a few small shops in town, as well as restaurants, taverns, a wine bar, and numerous art galleries, all with local chatter. This season businesses have pretty much returned to normal, but come prepared and ready for anything, it is an island after all! The immediate neighborhood surrounds the Madeline Island Golf Club, with old growth timber, and lots of pines. You'll preferably want your car while here on Madeline Island, tho it's not mandatory if all you're looking for are local beaches and town, which are basiclaly one mile to the cabin. All ferries carry people, automobiles, trailers, and bikes across from Bayfield, WI. My driveway isn't huge, but certainly has enough room for a few vehicles. The ferry takes 25 minutes and runs regularly from Bayfield, Wisconsin. While here, head to the beach to jump in and discover the healing waters of Lake Superior, walk around the quaint picturesque town of La Pointe, have a BBQ at Joni's Beach Park, stroll the lagoon boardwalk between Big Bay State and Big Bay Town Parks. Get a roaring fire started in the backyard pit while mixing up a cold beverage and enjoy the tranquil surroundings on the large wrap-around deck. There are also many tour options available for great sailing and fishing in the area, book earlier if possible. Kayaking and canoeing can also be available, weather permitting. Many businesses have limited hours, especially earlier in the week, so bring the fun! Make a note that Bayfield, 2 miles across Lake Superior, has the closest real grocery store, and Washburn, WI has a larger IGA, where I typically shop. There are two small convenience stores to purchase a few items once here on Madeline Island. There's an extra guest charge ($25 per guest/night) for more than 4 guests. The nightly rate also includes the 6% town sales tax.
