A magical family retreat steps from the Sound! Large great room/dinning for family gatherings and rec space downstairs. Something for everyone w/ home theater, foosball, game table, XBox, toys, darts, bball shootout and a Harry Potter surprise. COVERED deck great for BBQ & enjoying nature year round. Recreation community is complete w/ hiking trails, beach, docks, tennis/bball courts, clubhouse, playground, fitness gym, & pool (closed 2020 summer)! Bikes and paddle boards to use (as pictured)! The space This cottage is in a gated recreation community right at the point of the island and has beautiful beaches and hiking trails all around it. The community used to be reserved for Wearhouser employees and has become a prime recreation destination since opening up to the public. The cottage is great for family gatherings with lots of open space for congregating. But check under the stairs for some extra magic😉. As the day begins enjoy a hike and stop in at the clubhouse for a game of pool and ping pong or just to borrow a book. Let the kids play at the play ground then take them to see the boats down at the docks. Stop back by for lunch but be aware the deer are not afraid to join a picnic😉. Then move on to the beach where you can enjoy 180* water views and make use of the outdoor kitchen and horseshoes. Don't miss the rope swing before starting a marshmallow roast at one of the designated fire pits. If it's a summer night then a dip in the hot tub can be nice while the kids enjoy a night time swim (be sure to check pool schedule, open from memorial to labor day). Guest access Pool (limit of 12 guests at a time) closed the summer of 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic, private beach, boat launch, fishing, clamming, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, BBQ, clubhouse with library / pool table and ping-pong as well as a small kitchen, hiking trails, fitness center, amazing views and rest/relaxation. Nearby (within 1/2 hour drive) nice bakery, cat sanctuary (a must), dowñtown Shelton and eateries. A little further and you will find Shelton drive in movie theater, little creak casino and spa, and Salish Golf Course. Just down the road is Gerald's Cove where you can dock your boat for $20 per night. Other things to note Visit the Harstine Point community page for all rules and regulations. Basic rules to be aware of, there is no smoking anywhere on the point, speed limit is a strict 15mph, no tents, fire pits are located at the spit along the beach, don't park on the grass. Extra fee for extra guests and special events, we will charge double for every extra guest that is not declared.
