Beautiful cottage on an island

Description

L 'Épilobe is a charming cottage, located at the very end of the Green Island, surrounded by the St. Lawrence River. Breathtaking view, outdoors, sunrises and sunsets at the rendezvous. Neighbors are herons, seals, and ducks... The space The cottage enjoys a large windows, and all around you you you will only see the river. If you're lucky, you'll get a chance to see the seals that come to dry in the sun just outside the house. At happy hour, head to the rocks on the north side for Quebec's most beautiful sunsets. The Epilobe is the one at the end, the blue. Just before (in the middle) there is the Liveche and the first on your way, the little white, is called La Silène. Guest access Route L 'Île is accessible by boat. To cross, you have to go to the dock of the village of Isle Verte, about twenty kilometers after Rivière-du-Loup and a few kilometers after the end of Highway 20. You will take about 4.5 hours leaving Montreal, and 2 hours leaving Quebec City. The crossing If you wish to cross with your car, you must make a reservation with the Inter-Rives Company (www. http://www.traverseileverte.quebec). To cross with a passenger vehicle and two people, plan about $100 for the round trip. There is between one and three round trips by high tide. The crossing is about 30 minutes, and you must arrive 30 minutes in advance. You can also choose to cross without a car. If so, you can do so with Inter-Rives Company, or through Jacques Fraser Boat-Taxi. The crossing will be faster, and you can make the trip with bicycles. On the Island The distance between the dock and the chalet is approximately 5 kilometers. It will take a few minutes by car, and about half an hour by bike. When you walk out of the boat, go up the coast from Chemin du Quai-d 'en-bas. You will cross the path of the island. Turn right, and continue to the end. You will cross an open area, then a forest, and you arrive directly at the chalet. Other things to note Good places For all your groceries, you can schedule a stop in Rivière-du-Loup. At exit 503, you will find a large IGA (open until 10am every night), a SAQ, a Canadian Tire, an Ultramar gas station with an impressive selection of microbrewery beers, as well as several other shops. In the village of l 'Isle Verte, there is a small grocery store, at Morin's, for your last-minute shopping, as well as a caisse populaire. There are no convenience stores, gas stations, or ATMs on the Island. So you need to plan all your groceries ahead of time. On the Island you will find Colette's fishmonger's specialty, hot smoked salmon, as well as several other seafood and prepared products. Please note, you'll have to pay for all your purchases in cash. Water Be careful, the tap water is not drinkable. It is neither toxic nor dangerous, it is only salty. You can use it for showers or dishes no problem. For drinking water, there is a distribution machine in the chalet. If the bottle is empty, you will find plenty in the garage. Keys The epilobe key is on a hook behind the front gallery post. On this key ring you will find the front door key as well as the garage key. At the end of your stay make sure to lock the door, and put the keychain back in its place. Bedding We provide all the bedding you will need. Upstairs, in a bag, there are sheets for the sofa bed. In the white and red shelf at the top you will find towels, linens and beach towels. Washer-dryer In the garage there is a washer and dryer, easy to use and with everything you need if you need to do laundry. If it doesn't sell too much, the clothesline is there, and it smells so good... Internet L 'Épilobe is equipped with wireless internet access. The network is called Epilobe, and the password is "ileverte" TV On the second floor you will find a TV and DVD player. So you can bring DVDs for gray days and we have a few in storage. Garbage, recycling and compost All organic materials (with the exception of meat) can be placed in the composter (wooden box between the Epilobe and the Liveche). Refuse bins and recycling must be deposited at the Sorting Centre, located between the wharf and the cottages (approximately 1 kilometre before the wharf road). The garbage cans go into the large bins at the back of the courtyard of the sorting center, recycling must be sorted and placed in the appropriate bins inside the building. Coffee There is an espresso machine, bodum and a full size filter coffee maker in the pantry. There is a coffee grinder, so you don't need to plan to grind your coffee before your stay. Espresso machine Before using the machine, make sure the water tank is filled to a minimum at a third party. Turn on the machine with the button on the top left. Fill the filter door to the three-quarter, without pressing the coffee and hang it on the machine. Watch the button on the bottom left. Once the light is off, the machine is quite hot. Press this button to turn on. Important: You must turn off the machine after each use, otherwise the heating element will break. Pantry Normally we keep the pantry well filled out. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate. We are aware that there are no convenience stores on the island… Bikes There are three bikes in the garage for your use. There are also some equipment to repair the bikes if there are breakages. The dirt road is very pleasant to pedal and you can get to the very end of the island. There are a dozen miles to get you to the end. At the mass tide, you can go to the end of the eastern tip and feel like that, at the end of the world… You can also take the road to the rocks and walk to the Grand Plage on the North side. You can go to the lighthouse and come back, if desired, by the way. Count for this walk about 2.5 hours. Fires You can make fires in the outdoor indoor, behind the cottage. Please note that you should however make sure there is no prohibition on the island at this time. The barometer is located at the entrance to the path to the Lighthouse. You will find wood and paper as well as a lighter in the building behind the cottage (door overlooking the South). Important: Fire must be extinguished with water-filled seal. Be careful, there is no firefighter on the island. Before leaving Unless otherwise specified, you must do a complete cleaning of the chalet (vacuum cleaner, dusting, bathroom, emptying the fridge, etc.). If you have time (depending on the time of your boat), wash the sheets and towels and remake the bed. Otherwise, place the sheets and towels in the laundry basket at the top in the bedroom. Close and lock all windows, garage, and front door. Put the set of keys back on its hook. Registration Details Quebec - Registration number 286182, expires: 2025-07-31T20:06:42Z
