Description
This home is a peaceful sanctuary 1.5 hours from Portland. It is on a private road just north of Oceanside, safely above the Tsunami Inundation Zone. You can walk to a secluded beach beneath the house and watch whales and bald eagles from the deck. The space This is a single family home on a double lot with expansive ocean views. You can also see the Cape Meares Lighthouse from the kitchen and deck. The home is on a private road that sits on a cliff above a secluded beach. The home is across the street from ocean front, but because the hill it is on, it enjoys views above the single story homes in front of it. I affectionately refer to the decor as "modern grandma" as it is an eclectic collection of modern elements with classic wood paneling and some fun grandma themed design mixed in. I spend a lot of time on the deck in both winter and summer. There is almost always a pleasant breeze and sunsets are amazing. There is also a wood burning fireplace on the main floor and a pellet stove on the ground floor for winter coziness (I suggest bringing wood and pellets). The kitchen is very well stocked with pots/pans, utensils, cutlery and basic cooking supplies like flour and oil. There are two charcoal grills in the garage. Pillows, sheets and towels are provided. As this is an entire home rental, interaction with guests is primarily through email and phone. The home is one a private road, with 15 or so other homes on it, just north of Oceanside and just south of Cape Meares. The neighborhood sits above a secluded beach called either Short Beach or Agate Beach. It is a quite and friendly community, with many of the neighbors being retired full time residents. There is access to the beautiful beach below. The path starts at the main road winds around 100ft down to the beach. It can feel steep for older guests, but there are man-made steps and resting spots along the way. It is also possible to walk to Oceanside or to Cape Meares. Those walks are in the 10-10 minute range. Guest access The entire house Other things to note I suggest bringing your own wood, charcoal and pellets for the fireplace, weber grill and pellet stove.
