The Baiting House has been ours since 2015, when we found it closed and quietly going derelict after more than 175 years as the village pub. Kate's father was born a mile away, so taking it on felt like bringing something home. A year's restoration later, we reopened as a food-led country inn with rooms and lodges, now listed in the Michelin Guide. What matters to us is good food, a genuine welcome and an unhurried stay, your dog very much included.
