The Ocean View Cottage is located in the Springerbaai Coastal Eco Estate near Mosselbay, on the famous Garden Route. The Cottage is a picturesque Cape Dutch style holiday beach house. It features beautiful views of the ocean, coastline and mountains. The estate has many wild animals and birds and southern cape flora and fynbosch The space The cottage consists of 3 double bedrooms, a study/TV room, 3 bathrooms, closed patio, lounge, kitchen, scullery and garage. There are two outside deck/patios. The cottage is 241 metres2 and can sleep 8 if the beds in the study are utilised. The cottage is in easy driving distance of the towns of Mossel Bay, Greatbrak River and George International Airport. Close-by are also Big 5 game farms, Cape wines, world class golf courses (such as Pinnacle point and Fancourt) and beautiful mountain and beach hiking trials. The estate contains 25 games species and is also well known for its abundant bird life and cape fynbos vegetation. The Estate have secured gates via boardwalks to the beach. Due to the ECO estate status we do not use harmful fossil fuel energy but rather solar PV and gas power. The cottage has been renovated and has wooden flooring in the lounge and dining room. WiFi is now provided. The house is furnished with a blend of antique South African and quality wooden furniture fitting to the Cape Vernacular styles. A new couch set was added. The loft where study/TV room is contains DSTV and DVD player and features views to Outeniqua mountains and sea. The entrance and open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen opens onto the cement deck with ocean views. The room features a big fireplace for indoor barbecue and pleasant traditional heating. The patio on the Aalwynshoek fynbos kloof (ravine) has views up to the white waves and mountains. An outside barbecue fire place was added and is wind protected. The closed patio with north-easterly sun has direct views on the ocean. The kitchen and scullery contains electric solar fridge, gas stove, microwave and eating utensils for 10 people. Mountain bikes and firewood to be used for free by guests. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house and secure eco-estate plus beach with abundant birds and animals like Springbuck, Bontebok, Zebra, Duiker, etc. Other things to note Guests need to have respect for nature and other residents on the Estate and need to bring necessary food items for a self catering stay as the estate is 28 km from the closest shopping mall. We provide free firewood and 2 standard mountain bikes.
