Situated in its own completely private white-sand bay, Makuzi is a family owned business which has retained the beauty and exclusivity by only having eleven individual comfortable en-suite chalets, all with stunning lake views. The space Our private cove is what makes us truly unique. All our chalets are situated in our manicured gardens and overlook the lake. We have a limited amount of chalets which helps retain the privacy Makuzi Beach Lodge offers. Guest access Makuzi has an excellent reputation for its cuisine, catering for all tastes and diets in the restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We use all our own grown spices, herbs and vegetables and our menu is 99% locally sourced ingredients We also have a very well stocked bar. Other things to note Makuzi Beach has several activities to offer our guests, from lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the clear clean waters of the lake to see the cichlid fish which are native to Malawi, or kayaking on the lake to our small island 1 km off shore. Fishing is also an option - both spinning and fly-fishing. We offer boat trips on a motorized local boat – snorkeling trips, sunset cruises . Makuzi Beach also has the first spice farm in Malawi “Rift Lake Spices” and totes around the gardens are available at all times.
