Nkwichi Lodge is a hidden paradise on the pristine Mozambican shores of Lake Malawi. Self-catering or full-board accommodation are available in five beautiful chalets, each offering complete privacy. More than a lodge, Nkwichi is a complete experience offering a unique taste of Africa with exquisite lakeside scenery and unparalleled tranquility. Set on 4km of Rift Valley coastline in the Manda Wilderness area this is the perfect setting to discover a lost world in a fresh-water oasis. The space Tucked away in the tree line, each chalet is unique. All individually designed and built using local materials to blend into their surroundings, they deliver comfort in a natural setting. - Complete privacy and intimacy - Hand-crafted furniture, including 4-poster beds - Rock-pool baths carved out of primordial boulders - Mesmerising vistas of the lake We have a private beach with shaded areas, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker and fridge available. Filtered lake water is available. Nkwichi is remote so we'll help you plan your trip in advance to ensure what you need is available. There are limited supplies available in Cobue, our nearest town, 10km North along the lakeshore - so majority of consumables will need to be brought in from Malawi or Lichinga ready for your visit. For self-catering bookings, you will bring all food & drink supplies. Our rates include staff to cook for you, serve you, clean your chalet and make up the beds. Our staff are also available for advice and recommendations throughout the day. The rate is per chalet per night, for either single or double occupancy. Each additional person per chalet is charged at $30, please get in touch should you require additional beds. Children under 3 years are free & you can make use of our complimentary babysitting services. Full-board is also an option. Activities include excellent snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and relaxing by the beach, and plenty of beautiful walks within the area. You can also hire our boat (with boatman) for motorised activities such as watching the sun set on the lake or visiting nearby villages. Guest access You have a private chalet and bathroom. The main dining areas and beach hut are shared. We can set up a private dinner spot on request, too. The kitchen is operated on your behalf by our staff, who may be preparing food for both self-catering and full-board guests at the same time. You will be free to access the Nkwichi beach and the Manda Wilderness Conservation Area that surrounds us. Other things to note We are in a remote area so there are no other people around and you have the chance to relax and unwind in a truly remote and beautiful space.
