The cabin of the La Calderona Refuge is a few kilometers from the La Calderona lagoon, a natural wonder of the department of Boyacá. Apart from the inn, the space allows for hiking, birdwatching, campfires and camping. Enjoy a pleasant stay, disconnect and immerse yourself in the life of the countryside! Guest access The arrival route to the Calderona Shelter by the Albañil Trail preferably requires a van or 4x4 vehicle, because in some points it has a footprint plate, and in others it does not; the shelter is located approximately 3.5 km from the urban area of the municipality of Ciénega. Other things to note The cabin has kitchenware (dishes and cooking utensils) and some essential supplies such as water, salt, sugar, panela, oil but it is suggested to stock up in advance. If you want, you can get local products such as arepas, almojábanas, and cheeses in the village. Some local farm products such as curd, eggs, milk are also available on the sidewalk itself, we suggest purchasing from the locals, consulting our neighbor Nelly beforehand. If you are going to La Calderona Lagoon, it is important to have suitable walking shoes and/or rubber boots in rainy weather.
