Set on a 100-acre farm in the Maparasha Hills, Kichaka is an easy drive from Nairobi and Amboseli National Park. This secluded self-catering hillside retreat is a perfect getaway for families and friends. The bathrooms have flush toilets, wash basins and solar powered star showers with hot and cold running water. Please note thatsSingle supplement applies for single occupancy rooms There is thatched banda overlooking the pool, for guests to relax in, with a charming open plan lounge and dining area. The banda has a spacious adjoining kitchen with a solar fridge, gas stove, expansive work surfaces and cupboards for storage, and hot and cold running water. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses . A charcoal barbecue and pizza oven are conveniently placed outside the banda for outdoor cooking - CHARCOAL MAY BE PURCHASED ON SITE The pool is decked out with tables, sun-beds and loungers - the perfect spot for al-fresco meals. Next to the banda is a washroom with flush toilet and shower. There are plenty of fabulous sun downer spots in and around the camp and a campfire for guests to enjoy in the evenings. Guest access Kichaka is a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. Take a bush walk around the farm where you are likely to cross paths with some of our resident wildlife or hike in the surrounding hills and enjoy the spectacular views and photographic opportunities – on a clear day you can see Kilimanjaro. Horse riding can also be arranged for those wishing to explore further afield. We engage in beekeeping and sheep farming and are happy to show you around if you are interested. Children especially enjoy the lambing season! Chill by the pool, play a round of croquet, or lie in a hammock under the shade of an acacia tree and enjoy the abundance of bird life. In the evening sit by the campfire, gaze at the stars and listen to the sounds of the African night. Other things to note Please note that our rates are based on per person sharing. The camp has a solar fridge. Our borehole water is safe to drink but if you prefer bottled mineral water you should bring your own supply. There is phone signal for most mobile operators. Phones may be charged at the office during during day light hours. Please bring your own USB chargers and cords. Please note that we do not provide towels There are wild animals on the farm so owners assume no liability for damage to person or property of visitors from wildlife or accidents. Guests are advised to be back in camp before dark, and have our guide accompany them on hikes.
