Description

A small cosy appartment-like space, built in 2017, over a newly renovated traditional Cypriot home, built with a lot of love, in a peaceful surrounding. It has a private veranda with a great view of the village and surraounding mountains. The entrance from the main street is through the yard of the home underneath (where the owners might be staying). Everything in the house is brand new (furniture, bedding, kitchen appliances etc). The space The place has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and a sofa-bed in the kitchen/living area. The place is on the first floor, and unfortunately it is only accessible through a staircase. Brand new kettle, toaster, fridge and other basic kitchen appliances are available. Special arrangemts can be made for guests with kids (contact the owner for more info). Guest access The yard, used to enter the building, will be available for use by the guests most of the time. Other things to note Panagia is a mountainous picturesque village in Cyprus, located at an altitude of 900m in the Paphos mountain range, at the outskirts of Paphos forest and just 35 minutes from Paphos International Airport.It can be reached by following the A6 from the town of Pafos, and then the E606. Archbishop Makarios III, the first president of the Republic of Cyprus, was born in Panagia -with two museums dedicated to the Archbishop; the family home of the Archbishop, and the Museum of Cultural Foundation Archbishop Makarios III.Today the village is known for its unique wildlife, amongst which is the Mouflon, species which is protected by Cyprus and International laws because it is an endangered species. It is also known for the viticultural zone Vouni Panagias, which is considered by the wine connoisseurs’ in Cyprus as one of the best on the whole island. The historical Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery is nearby.Other interesting sights include the various local wineries, the monastery of Agia Moni and the Vouni Panagias Nature Trail, which begins at the town square, and takes three hours to complete. Visitors can also enjoy the festival ‘Ta Rogiatika’, which takes place annually on August 15, and includes a programme of music and dance.
