Sharing our lush jungle home with guests is a joy, reminding us of the natural beauty that surrounds us. Yet, we are located only 35 minutes from San Ignacio. Calico's location near the Mountain Pine Ridge provides access to popular attractions--Caracol , Rio on the Pools and Barton Creek. Experience snug comfort in our modern treehouse with access via ladder. Explore the natural beauty of the rainforest via wondrous hiking trails or exhilarating zip-line and other adventure tours. The space This villa is ideal for families or groups who want to get an authentic, adventurous jungle experience while still enjoying some modern comforts. It has 3 bedrooms, two baths, a common room, small fenced backyard and kitchenette (small refrigerator, microwave and sink). The living room has free cable television and every room has optional air-conditioning for a modest fee. Our resort offers a variety of other rooms and villas that can accommodate groups, couples, or single travelers. We also facilitate a variety of tours and activities onsite, and in the surrounding areas, to keep even the most adventurous guests entertained. Calico Jack's is situated in a natural habitat that borders the Tapir Reserve which is a protected area in Belize. Accordingly, there is an abundance of flora and fauna, a creek, swimming hole and dry caves and many hiking trails to explore via guided tours. The property boasts more than 250 varieties of birds including humming birds that you can see gathering nectar as you stroll from your room to the restaurant and bar area or lounge poolside. As concerns food, our menu options include meat, poultry and fish and we specialize in vegetarian and local cuisine. And if you have a special meal you would like us to prepare we will do so. We offer Continental breakfast for US$5 including 12.5% general sales tax (GST). We also offer a local special dinner for US $5 to $8 including GST. Our menu prices are well below those charged by area resorts and restaurants. Our prices are higher than if you were to eat from street or small vendors largely because we are licensed to prepare food and use purified water in all food and beverage preparation. We grow many plants and fruit that we use in the preparation of delicious and fresh food and beverages including agave, mango, cassava, avocado, breadfruit, plantain, lime, oranges and tangerines. We host happy hours, Belizean barbecue, and sports activities such as pool volley ball and football (soccer) for the village and our guests, so please join the fun!!! Guest access Our guests have access to our restaurant, bar and lounge area and also to our swimming pool on a complimentary basis. Guests have the option to have air conditioning, access to internet and laundry for a small fee upon request. Note that we are in an area without public utilities and provide our own services. We run on generator and ask guests to be respectful of this by outing lights when leaving the room. Though we are one of a handful of establishments that offer internet in our area, we offer basic service that is not the high speed access to which guests from advanced economies are accustomed. It does not support video streaming or music downloads, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) or Facetime. It does allow one to check email and to visit websites. We offer a variety of tours on site and special discounts for our overnight guests that allow them to access much of our 365 acre property if this is of interest. These activities include early morning bird watching, biking through the village, hiking trails to the creek or to the dry caves used by the Maya for their sacred rituals, zip lining over and through the jungle canopy as well as night hikes and night zip lining. If you really like adventure take our CJV Extreme tour which combines zip lining with a rappel, cable walk, rope ladder challenge and gives you the option to return on our 500 foot run super(wo)man style or try El Columpio our jungle swing for a unique jungle view. Relax poolside and enjoy a Belikin beer or stout or join us in the restaurant to enjoy a freshly prepared meal or in the lounge area to catch up with the day's news or to email a friend to share your adventures. Other things to note The list prices do not include a 9% hotel tax in accordance with the laws of Belize as implemented by the Belize Tourism Board. This accommodations' tax will be paid directly upon check in and is not factored into the prices posted. Also at check in guests are required by law to register and sign a liability waiver.
