The Lodge on Sebec Lake provides private lakeside lodging and is an ideal base for a variety of activities in Northern Maine. Located at the east end of Sebec Lake, 15 minutes from Dover- Foxcroft, it combines a peaceful getaway on the lake, with close access to town for groceries, dining, and supplies. The lodge is located in the heart of the Maine outdoors. Layout of Property: The Lodge on Sebec Lake is made up of 3 separate buildings. The Lodge 1st Floor: Recreation room with a refrigerator, countertop, coffee makers, dining tables, 2 couches, a futon with linens if needed, a large wall mounted smart television with large selection of DVD’s, and reading books including kid’s books and local area guides, and games. We have added Fiber wireless internet to this area. 2nd Floor: 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms • The Moose Room is 1 Queen and 3 twins and houses the extra blankets and window fans. • The Deer Room has 2 Double beds • The Duck room has 1 Queen • 2 Bathrooms - Full bathrooms with showers. Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided for the length of your stay. To keep our booking fees low, there is no maid/laundry service during your stay. However, we realize that some people may require an extra set of sheets or towels, so let us know and we will happily provide them for you. For guests that rent the lodge longer than 1 week, we ask that you collect all towels and bring them to the main house kitchen once a week (typically Sundays) and we will provide you with a change of towels. The Main House Main floor has a full private kitchen, dining room, sitting area and a full bath for use by guests. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you should need, if you have any special requests let us know. See the attached kitchen list. The Rustic Cabin The 4th sleeping area. It has 1 double bed, rocking chair, a front porch with chairs,. Guests in the cabin use the Main House Bathroom, as there is no plumbing in the cabin. It is about a 200 foot lit walk between the two. HOSTS: Melanie and Patrick live upstairs on the second floor of the Main House with a separate entrance in a private apartment. We do not interact with guests unless you have a request. We leave it to you to let us know your needs. We will collect garbage from the bins outside on occasion when necessary. We both work long hours and are rarely home so texting is best for communication. If we are home, of course feel free to knock on the door. They also have access their own private kitchen/dining room and another full bath in the downstairs in the Main House. There is boat trailer access to Sebec Lake, with a dock and beach for swimming. ATV and snowmobile trails on Sunset Ridge Rd. Melanie and Patrick live upstairs on the second floor of the Main House with a separate entrance in a private apartment. We do not interact with guests unless you have a request. We leave it to you to let us know your needs. We will collect garbage from the bins outside on occasion when necessary. Patrick 503-803-801 Melanie 971-404-5528 The property is located on the lake with 300' of swimmable waterfront access, dock, and boat access. Sebec Lake is covers 6,803 acres and is up to 327 ft deep and one of the top 10 cleanest lakes in Maine. It has great fishing for lake trout and bass. There are also numerous brooks and rivers for fishing nearby. In addition to lake activities, we are located close to thousands of hiking trails. Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary, Baxter State Park, Katahdin Ironworks State historic site, and Gulf Hagas offer the best wildlife viewing and hiking in the North Maine Woods. The lodge is an ideal location for hunting and foliage watching in the fall and there is direct access to the interstate ATV and snowmobile trail network near the property. We can direct you to many more activities, such as White Water Rafting, guided hunting/fishing trips, and bird watching. We also recommend just sitting on the beach at the lodge and enjoying the sound of the loons and watching the eagles fly overhead. Restaurants: • Bear Point Marina (lunch and dinner) - Just across the lake (canoe or paddle over). Driving is further about 15 minutes. Wood fired pizza, fried seafood, burgers, and much more. Menu is on refrigerator. • Sebec Country store (breakfast and lunch) – Subs, diner style breakfasts, burgers, fried fish, chicken strips, steaks, salads, etc. • Milo and Dover have several restaurant options o Pat’s Pizza – Dover-Foxcroft or Milo o Nor’easter – restaurant for home style cooking o Stutzman’s café – Farm fresh food and wood fired pizzas o The Bear’s Den – Home Style food o McDonalds – Dover – Foxcroft o Bissell Brother’s Brewery – BEER limited food, but delicious. Music on weekends. o Pat’s Dairyland – Dover-Foxcroft – Soft serve Icecream and excellent fried food o Butterfield’s Ice Cream Shop – Homemade scoop icecream. NOT to be missed. Neighborhood: • The Lodge is conveniently located 15 minutes from both Dover-Foxcroft and Milo and about an hour from Bangor. The Sebec Village Store is 5 minutes away at the 4 Corners for food, gas, ice, and last minute grocery supplies. Groceries: • The Sebec Country Store offers some limited grocery items such as milk, eggs, butter, or chips as well as gas. Or you can get a variety of groceries within a 15 min drive. In Dover there is Shop and Save (Hannaford) and Shaw’s markets. Mountain’s Market has basic supplies and prepared food. Shop and Save will even cook Lobster for you for pick up if you call in advance. In Milo there is Tradewind’s (Hannaford’s) market that has a good selection as well. Outdoor Gear: • Mountains Market in Dover has a variety of outdoor supplies including; outdoor apparel and equipment, fishing supplies, licenses, and guns and ammo. For ATV parts, Napa or Advanced Auto Parts in Dover are good choices. • Indian Hill Trading Post in Greenville are great day trips for shopping and site seeing. • Moosehead Motor Sports – in Greenville for repair or buying The Lodge is conveniently located 15 minutes from both Dover - Foxcroft and Milo and about an hour from Bangor. There is also a store 5 minutes away for food, gas, and last minute supplies. There is ample parking at the lodge for cars and boat/atv trailers. Please be sure to add the number of guests in your party, so that we can prepare. DETAILS FOR YOUR STAY: • Wireless Internet: 2 networks available, you will need to log into both Network 1: Kitchen3g Network 2: Lodge3g Password: fluffhead (both) • Linens: We provide fresh bedding and linens upon arrival. We don’t provide housekeeping service during your stay, but if you require extra linens for any reason let us know and we will provide them for you. Dirty linens can be placed in the laundry basket provided in the main house kitchen and we will wash them for you at that time. Please do not strip bed when checking out, our laundry service requests linens in a certain order and we prefer to strip them ourselves. • Towels: We provide enough bath towels for each guest checked in with us at the beginning of your stay. We divide the towels between the bathrooms, and we always leave extra towels in the Main House Bath if you should need them. If your stay is extended, we ask that you put soiled towels in the laundry basket on SUNDAYS and put the laundry basket in the main house kitchen and we will provide you with a new set. Please Do Not use the bath towels outside, see below. • Beach Towels: We offer a selection of beach towels for you to use. They are on the shelf by the bathroom in the main house. These are for outside use. Upon checkout, please leave them in the laundry basket provided beside the beach towel shelf in the main house. • Laundromat: We do not currently have a washer and dryer for guest use, but there are Laundromats in Dover-Foxcroft and Milo. • Coffee: We provide local ground coffee for your use in the Main House Kitchen as well as in the Lodge. We also provide fresh cream and sugar. There are 4 coffee pots available for use. • Kitchen items: Anything in the kitchen is available for your use. We have a random assortment of condiments, spices, etc. that guests may use during their stay. Since stores are 10 miles away, we try to keep the less common things available like baking soda, salt, pepper, oil, flour and sugar available. These are just extras that we enjoy when we stay away from home, so if you use a lot or the last of it during your stay, as a curtesy please replace or let us know so that we can replace for the next guests. • Propane Grill: We have a propane grill under the deck outside of the main kitchen for your use. Please remember to turn the burners off after use. There are grill utensils available on the wall beside the grill. We have a backup tank available if needed, let us know if it needs changing. • Extra Blankets: There are extra blankets in the Lodge Moose Room closet available. The cabin has extra blankets in the trunk at the foot of the bed. • Fans: Each room in the lodge has an overhead fan, but we also have window fans available for each room. They are located in the Lodge Moose Room closet. We recommend turning fans off during the day and shutting the shades in the bedrooms to keep the rooms cool. It gets very hot in the summer. First Aid: • A First Aid Kit is located in the Main Kitchen on the refrigerator. • If you have any emergency needs Melanie is a Registered Nurse and can assist if needed. Patrick is Wilderness First Aid certified as well. • The nearest hospital is Northern Light Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover Foxcroft 11 miles away. Kitchen: • The full kitchen is in the main house with a full size refrigerator/freezer, 4 burner stove, dishwasher, pots and pans, baking ware, dishes, microwave, 2 coffee makers, and dining table. • Please clean all dishes thoroughly prior to check-out and run the dishwasher before you leave. There is dishwashing soap under the sink. Garbage: • We have garbage cans in each room but if you have more than will fit in the cans, there is a big garbage can underneath the porch of the Main House. We will empty the outside garbage cans under the porch and in the main house kitchen. Guests are responsible for emptying the lodge garbage into the outdoor garbage cans. We do dump runs once a week. If you cook Lobster let us know asap, we will make an extra dump run as it spoils very quickly. • Garbage bags are located in the lodge kitchen under counter and in the main kitchen under the sink Recycling: WE RECYCLE!!! Follow instructions • Returnables - Please place glass returnable bottles and cans in the blue recycling tub under the porch – RINSE prior to putting in bin. • Paper, cardboard, and CLEAN recyclable plastic in the large blue recycling can. • The outdoor bins are labeled behind the red bench under the porch. Water/Septic: • Our water is from a well, and safe to drink, we have it tested every year for safety. • We are on a septic system so please DO NOT throw feminine products, wipes, or paper towels in the toilet. • If there is a clog, there is a plunger under the sink in the lodge bathroom. Boats: • We have 1 canoe, 2 kayaks, and 2 Stand Up Paddleboards for use by guests. We ask that anyone using a watercraft wear a lifejacket at all times, it is a law in Maine to have on the watercraft. Please read our boat law book available in the lodge. • WE REQUIRE that you return boats upside down on boat rack after use. PLEASE ensure the canoe is turned upside down after use. Storms can come in fast on the lake, please be prepared for this. We have lost several boats to unprepared guests and the dam is just 1 mile down the river. • Boat Rentals – Motorized boats are available at Sebec Village Marina in Town or at Tim Merrill’s Marina in Dover-Foxcroft at Greeley’s Landing. Parking: We have plenty of parking available. We normally have people park driving straight in to the main house. There is parking available on side of lodge for cabin guests as well. There is trailer access to the beach.
