Svansstaðir Cabin - A Forest Paradise

This stylish and warm cabin is located in the beautiful valley Skorradalur. It is surrounded by picturesque settings; trees, mountains and lake view wherever you look. The relaxing surrounding is both quiet and peaceful, yet only 30 min drive from the nearest town. The space Renovated in 2020, this 30 m2 cabin offers everything you need for relaxing vacation away from the stress of everyday life. From the gate, you will be welcomed by the rich forest and the stair trail leading you to the house. The cabin has one bedroom with a double bed, kitchen, living room and a bathroom with shower. The living area has a double sofa bed, bluetooth speaker, 49” Philips LED TV and Apple TV. Our fully equipped kitchen has a built-in oven, two coffee makers (Nespresso & filtered coffee) induction stove and a dishwasher. On the patio you will find outdoor furnitures and a Weber barbecue. The cabin has a storage loft which is not included in the rent. Guests will have access to a free high speed WiFi. The lake house is only 28 km from the nearest town, Borgarnes, where you will find all necessary services such as supermarkets, liquor store, swimming pool, bank and gas stations. You will find numerous excursions possibilities in the nearby areas such as Iceland’s tallest waterfall GLYMUR, HRAUNFOSSAR waterfall, KRAUMA bath resort and geothermal pools such as KROSSLAUG REYKIR and SNORRALAUG. You will also find several golf courses within one hour drive that are open during the summertime. Guest access Guests will have access to the whole property except for the storage loft. That is the entire ground floor of the house, a patio, the bordering natural land with beach, small surrounding forest and the bordering lake. Other things to note The last 8 km of the drive is a gravel road. During winter time, it is necessary to have a well equipped car with 4x4 drive and studded tires. We also recommend to always check the weather forecast and road conditions before your departure.
