Malek airport. , Enjoy the 16 miles of sandy beach outside your back door, lounge the day away & enjoy the good life. Nearby there is very pretty hotel/restaurant to enjoy along with 2 other beach restaurants and a beach restaurant/bar too. The house is Mexican Modern with tile floors, inside & out, tropical colors, & a flat roof that is an expansive terrace with spectacular 360 degree views of ocean, beach, pastures, cows, birds, mountains, sunsets, moon, & stars. The living space is all on one floor with a full roof terrace. There is one master bedroom and a guest room with futon couch hat can be made into a king bed futon or 2 single beds. The front has covered parking that connects to a covered porch. The back, beach side, also has a covered porch. A short trail leads from there to the beach. . The house has 2 boogie boards to use. There is some basic fishing gear available for use at the house and fishing from the beach right out your backdoor. You are renting the whole house, so enjoy. I am no longer living in Panama, so, although I continue to visit when I can, the chances of us meeting are slim. I have a wonderful friend and caretaker who does live in my neighborhood full time, an American man and his lovely Panamanian wife, Tom and Sherry. Tom is a wealth of information for anything that may come up during your stay. Because of my years living in my house at the beach, even though I am here in California, I am still happy to help in any way with your time at Playa La Barqueta. My knowledge of the surrounding area can help you plan your stay prior to your arrival. Just ask please. This neighborhood has grown up around the resort of "Las Olas," but it hasn't grown too much. There is just one gated street of custom homes, mostly Americans & Canadians. Although the town of David, 30 minutes away, has many restaurants, stores, and a few casinos, Playa La Barqueta has peace amid glorious nature. The Las Olas resort has a nice restaurant & bar, tennis courts & pool available for paid day use. In addition there are a couple of beach side cafes nearby. Whether you're looking for a place to retire or to vacation, this is a perfect location for exploring Northern (really it is Western) Panama, Pacific beach communities, Puerto Armuelles, Bocas del Toro on the Carribean, the mountain towns of Boquete & Volcan, and a short drive to Costa Rica. Although you can use taxis, buses, it is more economical to rent a car and drive around our area. Rental cars run as little as $35 per day and the roads are very drive-able. There is one of the largest mangrove waterways in the world just 15 minutes away that can offer touring and fishing by boat or kayak. Just ask and I can set you up with a local guide. In addition, there is excellent birding in the area, both on land and from the water, and again, tours can be arranged. The Chiriqui Provence that we are part of, has so many adventures and sights awaiting your travels. Costa Rica is a little more than an hour away. Wow, so much to do, so little time.
