Fully Furnished Cottage With BBQ And Pool - pet considered
The cottage is a private cottage located behind my house. It can accommodate 2-3 people (there is a $25/night charge for a third person). There is a queen size bed in the bedroom, a couch in the living room, plus a blow-up mattress. We are located 1-mile from town and a 10 min. walk to Chico State. The space The cottage isn't just an alternative to a hotel/motel, but rather a truly wonderful experience when you visit our lovely town of Chico. Comfortable and cute, the cottage comes fully furnished: kitchen with Dansk and Pier One dishes, silverware, kitchen knives, Kitchen Aid Mixer, Cuisinart, blender, Keurig coffee maker with many different flavored pods, pots, pans, mixing bowls, spices, olive oil...gas stove; whatever you may need, it should be there. Extra rolls of paper towels and new sponges are provided as are any cleaning supplies you may need. Dish soap and liquid hand soap are also stocked. The newly installed mini-split is for heat and air conditioning and is silent! There is a ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom plus portable fans for additional air circulation in the summer time. We’ve also added a beautiful dresser in the bedroom. Soaps, towels, razors, hand lotion, puzzle books and pencils are stashed in the bathroom along with extra t.p. and Kleenex. There is also a stacked washer/dryer with laundry soap provided, built-in ironing board (I know, who irons?), iron, spray starch, queen sized bed (additional inflatable bed)… dog treats. I provide snacks, drinks, bread or bakery goodies, and eggs upon your arrival, and am also happy to pick up specific items you may want. The 50" smart T.V. is set up for local channels via Comcast (HD and expanded channels are new this year), plus subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon. There is also a DVD and VCR player if you care to bring your own tapes. And yes, there is WIFI! I know I can’t live without my computer, and I wouldn’t expect you to live without yours! There is also a pretty nice stereo in the living room with CD, cassette and AM/FM. I didn’t think the CD part worked, but one of the guests said it did… I keep forgetting to test it… so it might. But the FM/cassette is great for sure! There are two bicycles with locks and helmets, outdoor dining with furnishings, and a pond-less water feature right outside your door for a relaxing atmosphere. The palapa shades the Outdoor kitchen with BBQ, mini fridge and utensils. The Sundance hot tub and pool (lounge chairs and towels provided) are very popular with our guests. The area is well-lit at night. Your large covered deck looks out onto the digging grounds for my dachshunds. My hope is that someday they will actually catch a gopher! The garden is also here and guests may helps themselves to whatever is ripe. Competing for your attention will be Mem (short for Agamemnon), Obi-Wan and Charlie Girl. They are particularly fond of the treats in the cottage. Feed them, they’re yours! The heart of Chico is our downtown and it is a mere 5 minutes drive from the Cottage (exactly one-mile). Chico State is also very close and is easier to visit by foot or by bike. The area where I live fronts Big Chico Creek and is a haven for walking, jogging, and biking. No maid service unless prearranged. So there you have it… not a cheap alternative to a motel/hotel, but a comparable one, with way more amenities… and the chance to experience Chico as if you lived here! Thank you for taking the time to read this rather lengthy description… we look forward to meeting you… Guest access Pool, BBQ, back yard, garden area, Sundance Hot Tub-pretty much everything! Other things to note There is a large Oak tree dead center in the driveway. There is plenty of room on each side to come and go, but you do need to be careful.
