The bathroom shower has shampoo, conditioner and body soap for guests to enjoy. There is a queen sized bed and extra linens for the queen sized pull-out sofa bed. The space Our beautiful backyard garden cottage, located in the heart of Berkeley's historic Oceanview neighborhood, is family friendly, two blocks away from the Fourth Street shopping area and close to the freeway, AC transit bus lines, BART and Amtrak. The bathroom shower has shampoo, conditioner and body soap for guests to enjoy. No need to bring towels, linens, a hair dryer, iron or ironing board. Those are all included. There is a queen sized bed and extra linens for the queen sized pull-out sofa bed. There is a full-sized washer and dryer. It is a family and kid friendly, safe and peaceful environment. Feel free to sit in the garden under the persimmon tree and enjoy a meal or coffee or play the piano!! There are also hens that live in their chicken coupe in the garden. Ask us for fresh eggs! It is a historic site, as the Victorian house in front of the cottage, where we live, is one of the original homes of Berkeley. Construction began on the house in 1891. The house across the street is the oldest home in Berkeley and has a plaque on it explaining its history. Guests will have access to the cottage, the yard in front of the cottage, the laundry room and easy and free street parking. For guests with small children, we can provide you with a high chair, booster seat, portable crib, and other odds and ends. If we are in town, which we most always are, we like to make ourselves available to the guests as little or as much as they would like. Guests can always ask us for recommendations of sites to visit and places to go. In addition to the close access to UC Berkeley, San Francisco, and the Fourth Street shopping area, you're just a short walk away from Berkeley's Marina, which overlooks the entire bay. It is a beautiful place to walk or bike. You can even rent kayaks, boards and boats and go standup paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking or sailing along the bay. This is one of the best neighborhoods in the city of Berkeley regarding accessibility to public transportation. The cottage is two blocks from multiple AC transit bus lines, nine blocks from the North Berkeley BART station, and four blocks from the Berkeley Amtrak train station. It is also located just blocks from the freeway leading into San Francisco and the South Bay in one direction and Sacramento and Marin in the other. Free public parking is also readily available, which is unheard of in most of Berkeley. Guest access Guests will have access to the cottage, the yard in front of the cottage, the shared laundry room and easy and free street parking. For guests with small children, we can provide you with a portable crib and other odds and ends.
