Ruth's Retreat - cozy & close to it all!

Close to it all, yet off the beaten path & just a couple blocks from downtown. Kitchen, dinning room with farmhouse table that seats 8+, Bathroom with shower & vintage style tub, living room & master bedroom also on main floor. Upstairs offers 2 additional rooms & sleeping space! Yard with grill & deck to enjoy! Need more space for your group?! We now also own Jimmy's Place - located just 2 houses down and around the corner and can sleep another 8 people! The space PLEASE NOTE - like most homes in the downtown area of Grand Haven this house is over 100 years old, which means lots of character and a great location but also means things like steeper stairs, upstairs has a gabled roof, radiator heating which means window AC units not central air and while the kitchen is otherwise fully equipped there is no dishwasher. We hope to show as much about the house in the photos and descriptions as possible and please don't hesitate to ask more questions. Also as listed we do not have cable TV - but do have a new smart TV with Roku with a DVD player and do have Wifi. Our hope is that you will take advantage of time spent with others, enjoy our puzzles, games, books and creating memories together! We do offer longer stay off season rental often as well - please inquire. Other things to note Please note that while the kitchen has just about everything, it does not have a dishwasher - so dishes need to be washed by hand. Also note as seen in photos that the two upstairs rooms are separated by a curtain as it is not possible to have a door with the gabled roof. Any other questions?? Just ask!! Our family has a long history with Grand Haven, the Vinks and other family immigrated to the area in the 1800's and have been in the area ever since. This house is named in honor of my beloved Grandma Ruth who passed away several years ago but is where my love of Grand Haven and hosting others came from. She grew up in Grand Haven - just a few blocks from here and my childhood summers were spent coming back with Grandma to see family and friends. Family and heritage was important to her and we have loved being able to honor her memory in many of the photos in the house. We hope you will enjoy a little of our family history as well!
