Anouk's junglehouse is a unique eco house located in the beauty Amazon rainforest on the edge of the Maroon village Botopasi, 50 meters from the Suriname River. The house was created by visual artist Anouk Kruithof in collaboration with local specialists. This special house offers you space, tranquility (super mattress), privacy without other tourists, the possibility to cook and gives you the feeling of living in a total work of art, while living in the middle of the transformative rainforest. The space The house is wonderfully spacious for 1 or 2 people, but a bit busier when you pull out the extra mattress and stay there with 3 or 4 people. The mattress on the bed 180-200 is a quality mattress, something very different from the average cabin that you can rent on the Suriname River: so you can sleep deep! The 2nd mattress is standard SU-inland quality. You can cook yourself if you want, countless spices are available. We also have coffee, tea, oil, sugar and salt in stock at all times. You can also order food through the manager called Alies, then it will be cooked for you. The bathroom is a sensation: a cool bath during the day with a beer or a lovely shower almost directly in nature. The house is nice and cool in the evening, but there are plenty of blankets available. Anouk Kruithof collects beautiful objects made by Surinamese artists, books and antique objects. Under the house you can relax in the hammocks or write at the table, creative people can use the space as a studio / studio as Anouk Kruithof is used to. Guest access The whole space, the house is for you alone! Other things to note Although the house looks very nice and perhaps luxurious in the photos, you should never forget that you are staying in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. An open and flexible attitude from adventurous people is required, something can always go wrong in Botopasi and deep in the jungle everything is different from the city of Paramaribo and certainly completely different from what you are used to in the West of course. You have electricity from 19-22 hours or a little longer, if you have a power bank with you, you can charge it and your electronic equipment will charge you in these hours. You have no refrigerator and no hot water or solar panels. When you buy a Digicel internet SIM card in Paramaribo with a data package for, for example, 3 days, a week or a month, you have excellent internet in the area, you can also use HOTSPOT to transfer your internet from your phone to your laptop and surf like that. on your computer. The water in the kitchen and in the shower is river water which is pumped up through the village pump. You can drink the rainwater (tab from the tank) : it is delicious and totally safe! Also don't forget the insects in the jungle: you can bring mosquito incense with you, this helps well and will protect you against the bites. There is a mosquito net.
