Charming Lakeside Garden Cottage

Our home is unique in that we are so close to everything Ithaca has to offer yet directly on the water. 2 miles from Ithaca Commons, 1 mile from one of the most impressive waterfalls in Ithaca, and 1 mile from Cornell Campus. You can wake up to the tranquil sounds of water lapping at the deck and the expansive view Cayuga Lake while being surrounded by gardens filled with vegetables and flowers. Connect with nature and recharge is this oasis unlike any other. The space Our home is surrounded by water on three sides which gives the feeling of being in a boat The master bedroom includes a queen size bed, a private full bathroom and deck access. Leave the windows open and enjoy the soothing sounds of the lake. There is a second bedroom with a king bed. There are 2 additional half bathrooms in the cottage, which combine to make a full unit. The kitchen is fully stocked, so help yourself to anything you need. Please just try to return cooking items to where you found them. The house is equipped with mini split AC units in each of the rooms to keep you comfortable. The very large deck features a grill, 4 kayaks, fresh vegetable and flower gardens, hammock, picnic table, and multiple couches. In the summer months, catch some sun or harvest veggies on our floating garden. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house - kitchen, living room, dining room, deck. Other things to note PLEASE READ: PARKING: Parking is a very sensitive and complicated issue in the community, due to the limited space and a dense population. ALL PARKING IS ON STREET PARKING. Be mindful of the traffic and follow these rules in the welcome guide. Please limit yourself to one vehicle. While we occasionally can accommodate more than one vehicle, we cannot guarantee there will be space near the shared steps. Therefore we highly advise guests to carpool whenever possible. ACCESS: A full staircase from the roadside parking area brings you to the lakeside houses and is shared by the neighborhood. A short path crosses railroad tracks, before reaching the house (total distance from road to house is 100ft). Unfortunately, if you are not ok with steps this may not be the Airbnb for you. OUR HOME: This is our permanent home and not solely a rental unit. As we travel frequently, we have decided to rent it out when we are away. Please treat it with respect. NATURE: Please understand with the beauty of this natural environment comes nature itself. This includes spiders, bugs, waterfowl, and fish. While we try to keep the deck as de-webbed as possible, you can't stop nature. CATS: There are 2 cats that live on the premises when we are here. We always clean thoroughly between each guests but depending on severity of the allergy, this may not be the place for you. Please contact me if you have any concerns or questions prior to booking!
