Chez Bassono / At the Bassonos

Staying with Charles and Natasha Bassono in Boulbi village is in itself a great experience. Living outside the big city, yet not so far away, where the air is clean and nature flurishes, as well as living like the locals will definitely enrich your travels. You can join Charles and Natasha on their delicious meals and she can teach you how to cook african food. There are colourful African birds just outside the house. A warm experience awaits you. The space What is interesting in staying here is the experience itself. Metting locals and living like they do. In this village, like mostly everywhere in Burkina Faso, there is no running watter nor electricity, but at the Bassonos, like in many other houses of the neighbourhood, there is solar electricity. The house is very clean. The toilet is outside in the courtyard, it is very simple and clean, it is just a whole on the floor, where you can also take showers. For the shouwer the watter will be in a bucket. Every day a lady brings water from a fountain in a big barril to the house. Charles will provide bottled water for drinking. Here you still can see the stars, hear birds and other animals, breathe fresh air, even though the big city of Ouagadougou is just arround the corner. Guest access Guests have access to their hut/room, the toilet and the whole outdoor space. Other things to note Charles has been my friend for about 10 years already. I recently had the chance to meet him and his wife in person ind Burkina Faso. We stayed at his place and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Me and my husband were so happy there that we wanted to share it with the world and suggested Charles tp start an airbnb. He agreed and I am now helping him with his airbnb project.
