The space This enchanting over-the-water bungalow makes a wonderful home for digital nomads, writers, artists, and people who cherish a private life xonnected with nature. Built from native hardwoods, Casa Saraso is a part of Delaluna Organic, Sustainable Living Retreat. Delaluna hosts 2 other 2 rental homes on a burgeoning permaculture farm that provides the produce to use in your cooking. Our village store can provide everything else needed. Solar systems harvests the power of the sun to provide our daily needs. Water catchment facilities collect all of our water from the rain, stored in various places around Delaluna. The wrap-around porch covers 3 sides of the bungalow and has 2 comfortable rocking chairs and 2 hammocks. Take time to relax, forget about the outside world, and fall into sync with the natural rhythm of island life. Discover sustainable living, off-grid, on this quiet tropical island. The master bedroom suite has a king sized floating bed with extra pillows in the center of the room, bed curtains, a dressing table and charging station, 12v lights, glass french doors on all four sides, and cork clothes pegs on the walls on each side of the bed. The adjacent dressing room has an antique armoire from the old Hotel Central in Casco Viejo and has shelves for clothing and clothes hangers. Yoga mats are stored in the closet for stargazing, stretching, or yoga. There is a full-length mirror in the armoire and on the wall. A small inside salon has a sofa for lounging and reading The bathroom has a hot water shower, sink, mirror, shelves, a toilet , trash basket, and a 5 gallon bucket to collect falling shower water. Jump off the porch, or use the swim ladder to enjoy the pure, refreshing, Caribbean water surrounding the bungalow. Enjoy morning coffee and evening cocktails in this haven for nature lovers. The sea is home to numerous coral reefs, a plethora of colorful fish, dolphins, spotted eagle rays, red starfish, sea urchins, and more. The sound of parrots and oropendula fill the air in the morning and afternoon, and waves lap against the shore at night. A gate at the back of the bungalow opens to the dock connecting the bungalow with the lodge of Delaluna. Hammocks, swim stairs, a game table/chairs, and living wall line the dock to the lodge. The lodge has a small salon for social time, computer work and games. De la Luna is a private enterprise, supporting organic sustainable living, and conscious of our green lifestyle. Built by local Ngobe Indians using native materials and hardwoods, we utilized traditional hand building methods in our construction. Uneven hand cut planks reflect the rustic, simple island style. Boat docking available. Delaluna organic permaculture farm, with a variety of sustainably grown products like coffee, cacao, bananas, avacado, coconut, mango, guava, guanabana, pineapples, water apple, sugar cane, jackfruit, guanabana, guayaba, yucca, jackfruit, papaya, otoe, daishin, lime, lemon, botanical medicine and abundant flora and fauna. Composting/Recycling/Upcycling projects are a continued part of life at Delaluna. Reycling stations are set up for our guests' participation in sustainable living. Each of us CAN make a difference! The waterfront is voluntarily protected as a marine sanctuary and hosts abundant fish and phytoplankton. The bioluminescents can be seen during the new moon and on overcast nights. Swimming with the bioluminescents is highly encouraged! Self-catering long-term rentals available and encouraged, for those wanting a real sustainable living experience or are building an island home. Ideal for a romantic vacation, or to simply relax, enjoy the tropical island lifestyle and sights, and learn about sustainable living! We look forward to welcoming you to our small community! The village of Loma Partida is 20 minutes by kayak, hosting the village school, church, a small store (Medardos Tienda), a fisherman's island/store, Papis Pizza Parlor (Thursday-Sunday 11-6), and Bella Vista Cantina. PanaBocas Express runs a public water taxi service 5 times daily Guest access Delaluna is accessible through both private and public transportation. Private transportation is available from Bocas town on Isla Colon and from Chiriqui Grande on the mainland. Bocas $75 Chiriqui Grande $75 Public transportation is available through PanaBocas from Bocas town and Chiriqui Grande, currently $12/pp each way to Delaluna on Loma Partida, the point of the island. Swimming: Access to water by swim ladder or swim stairs. Enter with care! The sea water makes them slippery! Kayaks: 2 kayaks and paddles are available. Reserve in the morning. Kayak around the island in 3 hrs! Explore colorful coral reefs. Farm produce available for purchase as well as supplies from the village store Nocturnal swimming with Bioluminescent Phyto plankton is encouraged. Swim shoes are recommended to protect your feet from dead coral and sea urchins. Other things to note Check in 2pm. Flashlights suggested for evening. Charging stations provided for cell phones, WiFi available De la Luna is committed to an organic, sustainable living and is powered by solar panels and rain water collection. Guests have an opportunity to have a private experience living off-grid, with a minimal impact on the environment, living in harmony with nature. Please be aware that we do not control the weather, and on rare occasions, experience a water shortage. Our own Delaluna bottled water is always available, free of charge Digital Nomads welcomed.
