The Beach House, lake front in Cape Maclear

The Beach House is ideal for family getaways or get-togethers with friends! Set on the lake front, this spacious double-storey reed house accommodates up to 8 people. Self-catered with a fully equipped kitchen, hot water, braai/BBQ facilities, secure parking for 2 cars, day-time staff to assist and clean, and night watchman. There is now a supermarket in the village a short walk from the Beach House. The space Cape Maclear is a unique village on Lake Malawi, 'the warm heart of Africa'. This village is located within a National Park and is surrounded by a protected nature reserve. The warm lake is filled with colourful cichlids (fish!), is ideal for snorkelling, kayaking, sunset boat cruises, and scuba diving (all accessible right next door). Within the village itself, you can eat at numerous restaurants, (including local fare) or simply enjoy the serene space within the Beach House's garden. This is the perfect break away from your usual routine! Guest access Guests have full access to the entire house and the property! The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, although a personal chef is available to hire should one request! Staff are available to do laundry (free of charge) should guests require. Other things to note There is a well-run medical clinic in the village. Safe drinking water is provided daily from the local water project. A Skyband Hotspot is available at the cottage and vouchers can be purchased at various outlets within the village. Your host can assist you with this if you wish to use the Wifi. Mobile internet is also available with TNM and Airtel. Again, you simply need to load data onto your Malawi SIM card and create a hotspot. Please note there is no ATM in Cape Maclear. The nearest ATM that accepts international credit/debit cards is Mangochi.
