The space Very unique spot, this small minimalist cabin is perched on a rocky hillside to allow a view over the forest and across the bay. This spot is ideal for the more rugged and adventurous outdoorsy type, as you must hike up to the cabin. It's just a minute or two from the parking area, but it IS steep, and you must expect to haul all your luggage and groceries up there. The cabin is small but perfect for a couple. There is a very comfortable queen size mattress in the sleep loft which is only accessible by ladder. Huge beanbags make an excellent place to flop and relax. Small bathroom with shower, toilet, hand sink, & mirror. There is plenty of hot water. The kitchen has a 20" propane range & oven, small sink, 3 cubic foot mini-fridge, coffemaker and a small freezer. All the cooking basics are there, as well as pots, pans, silverware, & dishes. There is a hammock outside and great views from the hilltop above the cabin. Tucked near the end of a quiet gravel road in a wooded neighborhood a 10 minute drive to Ellsworth, 25 minute drive the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park, and 35 minute drive to the Mount Desert Island section of the park. Great hiking just minutes away at a number of public and private preserves with excellent trails. There is a tandem kayak with life jackets and paddles to explore the bay, which is home to seals, fish, eagles, herons, horseshoe crabs, and lobsters. Great place to unplug and recharge yourself!
