The entire upstairs is your private suite w/queen size bed, twin sofa bed, frig w/freezer, Keurig & flat screen TV w/Netflix, etc. Adjoining room w/bunk beds, closet & chest of drawers. Walk in closet can be used as nursery with Pack & Play provided. Newly remodeled bathroom w/jetted tub & shower on this floor. A 2nd full bath on main floor, kitchen, dining rm + patio w/grill shared w/me for your use. The space COVID-19 preventions added in 2020: Air Wave air purifier and special service used to ensure thorough cleaning. Use my home as grand central for a marvelous vacation or business trip in the twin cities of St Paul and Minneapolis. I live 15 minutes by car between Downtown St Paul and Minneapolis. Both can be easily visited by using our new light rail train system. I provide a ride to the station 1 1/2 mile from my home and then you would have a 15-20 ride to the center of either city. *If you need to visit one of the many universities or colleges in St Paul or Minneapolis, this is the place to stay. In fact, I am walking distance to the St Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota and Luther Seminary. Just opened to the St. Paul campus, the new Bell Museum brings together science, art, and the environment with a unique Minnesota perspective. Their new home features a digital planetarium, high-tech exhibits, famous wildlife dioramas, outdoor learning experiences and more. https://www.bellmuseum.umn.edu to find out more. *If you plan to attend a conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center, either take a brisk walk or a free shuttle from the Nicollet Mall train station. *Want to catch a Twins, Vikings, Wild or Gopher game or go to a concert? The train will take you to the front door of those stadiums or close to the theater. Now we will have a new soccer stadium 2 1/2 miles away. Park and ride is just 3 blocks away for the new Alliance Soccer Stadium *Don't forget the Mall of America or the newly remodeled Minnesota State Capitol Building. *Adult fares on the light rail train are $1.75 or $2.25 during rush hour and are good for 2 1/2 hours. *The Metro Bus system will take you anywhere in the twin cities. Access it by walking just one block to the bus stop. *If you prefer to drive your own car, Interstate 94, 694 and 35W and State HWY 36 are just a short distance away. Parking is available on the driveway in the back of my home during the week and on the street on weekends as well. *Uber and Lyft are also economical and convenient options for transportation. If you have 3 or more people, the cost isn't much different from the light rail train. *My home is 3 blocks from the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. For 10 days at the end of August through Labor Day you can take in the Great Minnesota Get Together. Other times throughout the year they hold horse shows, concerts and other fun events. Google Minnesota State Fairground events and choose when you are coming for a list of events. *I am 1 1/2 miles from Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. It features a free city zoo with 25 animal habitats open 365 days a year. They provide a free shuttle about 3 blocks from my house. I like to walk there. The conservatory occupies one full acre under glass and 3 outdoor gardens. There is also an amusement park called Como Town for kids 2 to 12 in the summer. Many of my guests stay here because they are members of a wedding party that is taking place at Como Park. *On weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day The Gibbs Farm Museum offers a look at pioneer and Dakota life in the mid 1800's. Open Saturdays and Sundays 10 to 4. This gem is only 1 1/2 miles from me. *We also have fun in the winter here in Minnesota. In February we have our annual Winter Carnival. The light rail train which will take you right to the stadium as will the city bus. There are a multitude of events that week including concerts that are all a short commute from my home. *If you are a cyclist, our cities pride ourselves in being very accessible to people who prefer to travel in this eco friendly manner. You can leave your car behind and explore our cities' lakes and woodlands, galleries and restaurants. You can also take your bike on the light rail train or put it on front of the city buses. Bikes available 24/7 from 200+ locations in Minneapolis and St Paul. You can safely store your own bike in my locked garage when you aren't using it. *I have off street parking for up to 2 cars. Street parking is available on weekends and after 5:00. *How ever you prefer to travel, the twin cities can be your perfect vacation with or without the kids. Gather up your friends and come to a concert without worrying about a long drive home. A memorable vacation is just a click away! Guest access *Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and laundry. If you need anything like spices, olive oil, please check with me before you buy in case I have it. No use buying something you will use such small quantities of. I have detergent for a load of wash. There is a small refrigerator/freezer and microwave in your room for your use. Keurig coffee maker with various pods in room. Pour over coffee maker and French press with Pete’s coffee. *Larger groups may prefer to split up in the morning and some use the main floor full bath. It has a walk-in shower. *When on the main floor, anyone may use the main floor bathroom. *As a group you may feel more comfortable having meals in the dining room where I have a counter height gathering table. I will be providing a self-serve breakfast of coffee, tea, cereal/granola, toast and local jams and jellies. It will be set out the night before for your convenience and time schedule. The Keurig coffee maker has regular, decaf, as well as a few other varieties of coffee flavors. Turn the kettle on and make yourself a cup of tea from an assortment of flavors. *You may also use the backyard and fire up the grill or just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a garden retreat. * I have a garage you may use to lock up your bikes or golf clubs at night. *You can pop popcorn in my microwave (popcorn provided) and watch a movie on Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Disney and Amazon Prime. I recently added local channels if you want to catch a game while you are here. I noticed Amazon has sports outside our local area. *I prefer that you stay out of my main floor bedroom. During your stay I love to visit with you. You should feel free to interact with me whenever you want. However, I will respect your privacy when you stay upstairs. Once you move upstairs I never go up unless you ask me to. You can depend on having complete privacy. Other things to note In the summer, you will hear trains going by on a nearby track.
