Thomas who looks after the house is a fantastic chef who will look after you and (on request) cook you some delicious homemade Swahili meals. Many renowned authors and artists have found inspiration while staying in this home over the years. *** Note: this house is in Lamu town on Lamu island 5-10 minute walk from the waterfront. The nearest beach is in Shela, a 45-60 min walk away, or a 15 minute boat ride to either Shela or Manda beach. The house is actually two separate homes connected by a private bridge over the street. You will have access to the entire home which is 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 3 bathrooms, 2 rooftops, a dining room in the courtyard garden, and the pool/patio. If you wish to have additional beds made up this can be possible. We are based in London but are available to speak and advise you at all times. Thomas looks after the house and will be there to welcome you and cook you breakfast and meals on request. We are happy to help you organize activities such as dow-rides, yoga, henna, and waterskiing. Starting July 2019 we are trying to be a zero plastic house! We no longer use plastic bottled water at home but the glass bottles throughout the house are refilled from safe and clean deliveries to the house. Please bring your own bottles to use outside to keep the island beautiful :) We are now renting out our unique guest cottage in Shela village. Only 3km away but a totally different experience.
