The space You're booking a 2nd floor bedroom with a full size bed, dresser, desk, closet and a private hall bath. Enjoy your stay in a well maintained 140 year old house with beautiful hardwood floors, tall ceilings, a three story staircase and modern tile bathrooms. Also, on the third floor of the house is a master suite where guests can book the entire third floor. The suite has a queen size bed with a spacious master bathroom. The first floor kitchen, dining room, living room and half bathroom are open to guests anytime during a stay. The riverfront and the downtown areas are safe, well lit and full of visitors at most hours of the day. HISTORY OF THIS LOCATION Quaker Hill was settled in 1738, when Quakers William Shipley and Thomas West built the first residences in the area. During the Revolutionary War, George Washington and The Marquis de Lafayette were quartered on Quaker Hill. Among those buried on Wilmington Friends Meeting grounds across the street are John Dickinson, signer of the Constitution, and Thomas Garrett, an abolitionist who worked with William Still and Harriet Tubman as part of the Underground Railroad.
