In just 20 min from the airport, or 40 km from Westlands Nairobi, find unspoilt piece of wild Africa. Swara Acacia Lodge nestles among old acacia trees with exclusive access to 20,000 acres of wildlife conservancy. It is a perfect spot for busy people or families trying to get away without having to driving for hours AND for international travellers on their way in or out of Kenya. There is 24 rustic bandas, each differently furnished and themed after game animals we commonly find here. The space Unknown to many, the ranch hosts a resident population of over 3000 game animals, over 320 species of birds and 8 dams waiting to be explored! Both Mt. Kenya, 100 miles to the north and Kilimanjaro to the south are visible from the ranch. The dams are stocked and visitors can try their luck at fishing, or settle with a toast to the magnificent scenery with a sundowner. Besides game viewing (including evening drives) there are plenty of things to do... take a bike ride, go on a walk, swim in the pool, practice archery, play table tennis, football, do yoga... or put your feet up and relax with a glass of wine, good book or your online news (free internet is available on site). Guest access We have 24 rustic bandas (cottages) offering a true bush experience. Each (cottage) is twin or double or triple room with a shower and toilet. Each is a different decor that features one of the popular species you can find on the ranch. Our on site restaurant offers a la carte or buffet style meals (depends on the size of your group) and at our HopInn bar you can enjoy a cold drink of your choice. We can organise your mini safari bike ride with one of the rangers or you can go for a walk, a safari ride in your own car (there is 100km of roads and paths on the ranch). There is plenty to see, from giraffe which you cannot miss, to zebras, warthogs and their babies, to hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes and over 300 species of birds. You can also go fishing in one of the 8 dams on the property. We are often visited by wildlife research groups and people who like living among the game animals and in touch with the nature. Other things to note Take the Mombasa Road to Lukenya. About 200 m before Simba cement factory turn right to Small World and follow the road signs to the ranch. The lodge is another 3 km away from the main road. You will pass by the most beautiful, serene savanna scenery you never thought possible so close to Nairobi.
