Escape and experience off grid camping with no electricity, phone. (ATT cell phone users usually have good reception) , or internet in a very beautiful but easily accessible old style family cabin on Big Averill lake. Running water and showers are dependent on status of remote spring. The entire cabin and easy waterfront access are available to you. If you have a generator, the cabin is wired for electricity through out. A generator for your use is not provided. Gas lights and gas refrigerator are available for your comfort. If there is failure of the remote spring, neither running cold or hot water will be available. Pump water is available in that case .7 miles from camp. Personal items remain in the camp but there is plenty of space for travelers as well. Clothes hooks are available in multiple areas and are accessible for guests but there is very limited bureau or closet space as the camp only has one small one. The remote cabin is quite large and comfortable for a lakeside camp and easily accessible from main road. No bedding, towels or other linens are provided. I will consider special rental requests after Columbus Day but will have an additional $30 per night charge as will need to use wood stove and/or gas furnace. Local contact may be provided but owner will be available by cell phone. Cabin is located in Averill Vermont, an unorganized town, and within 4 miles of the Canadian border at Norton Vermont. Enjoy local hiking in Vermont on Averill and Brosseau Mountain as well as canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and fishing out the front door. Local communities include Pittsburg and Colebrook New Hampshire 30 minutes away. The camp is very close to the Canadian border and shopping, dining, and recreation are also close by in Coaticook Quebec as well if border crossing is permitted due to pandemic. Current the US/Canadian border remains closed. There is no available public transportation. This is a remote cabin and there is no electricity, cell except ATT, or internet services in the cabin or immediate area. Running water is dependent on the status of remote natural spring. A $250 deposit for damages is required Pets are allowed but there is an additional $25 cleaning fee charged per pet. All pets must be either kenneled or in animal bed at night and cannot ever be left in the camp unsupervised unless kenneled.
