This cozy cabin makes you feel far from the city the second you arrive. The log cabin is situated in the hamlet of Smallwood NY which is a community of cabins and cottages from the 1920's, 30's, and 40's. Smallwood is a wooded community with its own lake, waterfall, forest reserve, hiking trails, dog park, and a recreational area on the Toronto Reservoir. Smallwood is located in Sullivan County and is part of the town of Bethel, NY which is where the original Woodstock Festival Happened. This site is now home to the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. It is also ten minutes from the new Resorts World Catskills Casino which features gambling and restaurants. This cabin is surrounded by trees and a has a beautiful Stream Running through the property with a little wooden bridge. There is also an adjacent non-swimming pond which you can view both on the deck and screened in porch. There are neighboring cabins which can be seen from the property. While this a wooded community the cabin is not secluded. This is a walkable community with other cabins. The inviting outside space features a large screened in Porch with full outdoor living room set and mini refrigerator - great place to have your breakfast or sip wine at night and enjoy the serene views of the pond, stream, and trees. Very large Deck the length of the house that platforms down to the year. Deck features outdoor extendable dining table and patio furniture as well as a charcoal BBQ. The deck is filled with beautiful flowers. Cross the little bridge over the stream and there is your own private Stone Fire pit. Great place to hang at night, roast marshmallows, and stare up at the trees, and stars. Outside the stone walkways have all just been redone providing easy access to the firepit, picnic table, stream, hammock and gardens. The Cabin itself has been gut renovated and features: New Raw Pine Walls throughout and the smell of makes you feel your in the country. There are vaulted Pine Ceilings, 4 skylights, a Stainglass window, an original Stone Fireplace with Wood Burning Stove. New Windows throughout including large picture windows to gaze at the woods, stream, pond and property. Fully equipped renovated country chic kitchen with granite countertops, slate backsplash, topnotch stainless steel appliances - dishwasher, microwave, Gas 5 Burner Cooktop and Separate Oven, Refrigerator with Ice maker. There is also a washer/dryer. The cabin has 2 small cozy bedrooms with Log Frame Beds (One Queen and One Full Size Bed). Both beds have newer comfty mattresses. Please note there is no master bedroom. This cabin centers around the indoor and outdoor common spaces. Large Living Room with Sectional Couch windowside and comfty reclining and rocking chairs in front of the fireplace. Flatscreen TV with Built in DVD and Roku. There is internet and WIFI. (Sorry no Cable). New Furnace and Heating System. 3 Ceiling Fans. About the Area: Smallwood is located just a few minutes from the the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, Historic Woodstock Museum and the restaurants on Kauneonga and White Lakes. It is 10 minutes from the new Resorts World Catskills Hotel and Casino with a selection of restaurants. A short drive to the quaint river towns of Narrowsburg, Barryville, Callicoon, Livingston Manor and the mountain towns of Hurleyville, Mountaindale and Jeffersonville. Plenty of Hiking abound in the Area including the Smallwood Forest Reserve, Frost Valley Nature Center, Tusten Mountain Walnut Mountain, and the Neversink Unique Area. Lake Superior is also a few miles away and there is rafting and tubing on the Delaware River. Antiquing and scenic drives abound. Kayaking and Canoeing, biking and skiing (downhill and cross country) in the winter. It is beautiful all times of year. Summer Renters can enjoy the Toronto Reservoir Recreational Area which is a scenic drive on a long dirt wooded road within the community of Smallwood. This is my favorite place to swim and to watch sunsets. It is also pet friendly. If you are looking for a lifeguard beach with boat rentals Lake Superior State Park is just 10 minutes away and very nice. White Lake and Swinging Bridge Lakes nearby have Marinas where you can rent Pontoon Boats, Jet Skis and Speed Boats. The scenic Delaware River is 20 minutes away for those who want to go rafting or tubing. For those visiting with your dog Smallwood has the Town of Bethel Dog Park which has separate space for big and small dogs. It is a wonderful dog park and people come from all over Sullivan County with their dogs to enjoy it.. It is walkable or a very quick drive. You will have full access to the cabin and property. Smallwood has many walkable amentiities or within a short drive including the Smallwood Forest Reserve Dog Park, Outdoor Gym and Nature Trails, Mini Falls ( a small waterfall in walking distance), Mountain Lake which is great to walk around, and the Toronto Reservoir Recreational area in Smallwood which is a wonderful place to swim and to take in the sunsets. Nearby there is also Lake Superior State Park with Lifeguards and Rowboat rentals. Smallwood is 20 minutes from the very cute towns of Calicoon, Narrowsburg, and Livingston Manor. Car is needed to get to the cabin. Smallwood is a wooded community with its own lake, waterfall, and a recreational area swimming beach on the Toronto Reservoir. Lake Superior State Park Is also nearby for swimming and boat rental. Smallwood Lake Beach is not available for short term renters. My favorite place to swim is the Toronto Reservoir Recreational Area in Smallwood. There is also a wonderful Forest Reserve in walking distance complete with outdoor fitness equipment and a lovely dog park and wooded hiking trails. Those who enjoy walking/running can circle the entire lake to and from the cabin and it is about 3 miles.
