We use self-check in but our friendly host lives nearby and is available to answer questions and help any way he can. Cabo Pulmo is a very small, quiet community by the Sea of Cortez. It is off-the-grid, entirely solar powered plus a few generators. People visit for the extraordinary scuba diving and snorkeling, and to enjoy the quiet of the surrounding desert. There are no grocery stores, no hotels, no bus service, no shopping, and very few tourist facilities. Because it is a national marine sanctuary, there is no fishing out of Cabo Pulmo. Most people rent a car to get here because there is no public transportation or buses into Cabo Pulmo. Taxi service can be arranged to and from the airport, but is about as expensive as renting a car for a week. Once in town, everything is within walking distance, though the best snorkeling beach is a 10 minute drive out of town.
