Beautifully renovated Scarborough bungalow, with plunge pool and a wood fired hot tub / kolkol and indoor wood burning stove, a short stroll to the beach. Mussel Inn is perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of life, it’s perfect as a romantic weekend or a family break. The space Mussel Inn is a breezy, light-filled cottage that sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms, main with queen-size bed, and the second bed with two single beds and delicious crispy linen. The open plan kitchen is well equipped and has a SMEG stove and a dishwasher. The main living area has stack doors that bring the outside in for those lazy summer days and a wood burning stove for chilly winter nights . A wide wooden deck with a counter provides space for a champagne cooler and food waiting to be cooked on the Weber’s barbecue. Two squishy bean bags lay in wait for you to fire it up the portable fire pit and chill. A big outside table with benches and a large umbrella allow one to hang out and cool off in summer. An over sized daybed with piles of cushions is the perfect spot in the shade for a lazy afternoon snooze. A small splash pool in the front garden is perfect for little kids to stand in and splash about, and more than enough for a cool dip for adults. The cover needs to be taken off for use. There is wifi if you must, but no TV - who needs it when you are here? Guest access The Hub has delicious freshly baked breads, organic veg, dairy products and meat - all sourced from local farmers, as well as ready made meals to stock up on. If you don't feel like cooking, you have lots of options - a couple in Scarborough itself, or a short drive away. Try the Food Barn in Noordhoek (you may need to book). Or Blue Water Cafe or sushi from Umami at Imhoff Farm in Kommetjie. Or drive over to scenic Simonstown for a choice of coffee shops and restaurants on the quayside. If you feel the need to move, there is more than enough activities to get your heart rate up - hiking, surfing, cycling, swimming, diving and kite-surfing to mention but a few. Other things to note Keys are to be found in smart lock.
