Close to the Colombo international airport (CMB), Negombo, Anawilundawa bird sanctuary (30 minutes), Colombo (1 to 1.5hrs). Wilpattu (wild life reserve), Kalpitiya (dolphins/kite flying), Anuradhapura (ancient kingdom), and Dambulla (rock temple) are 2 hrs. Kandy and Sigiriya 3hrs away. Place to relax way in/out of the airport. Private and exclusive retreat away from noises. The space HOW IT WORKS: Our place, 4 acres peninsula with water in three sides, has 4 bedrooms in two separate villas. Each villa has two bedrooms. You could occupy the entire peninsula at $280 (good for 8 people), but single room occupancy is possible as well ($100 for 2 people/1 room, $180 for 4 people/2 rooms, $220 for 6 people/3 rooms, and $280 for 8 people/4 rooms). The rate includes housekeeping and service from Desh and Vasana who live within the property and have been with us for the past 20 years. Basic breakfast (toast and butter), tea, and coffee are free. Upon request and with extra charges ($12 per person/meal), Vasana, an excellent cook, can prepare traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry meals. We can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably. There are two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in the main villa facing water. The main villa also includes dinning and 2 living areas, upstairs and downstairs. The second villa, just 50 yards away from the main villa and also facing water, has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. No matter which building you occupy, you will have access to the spacious and open living and dinning areas, infinity pool, and the entire 4-acre garden with many tropical and local trees and flowers. Morning walk within the property is a simple and yet memorable pleasure to enjoy. Please make sure to write to me first before you make the reservation. Guest access The house comes with hot water showers, ceiling fans (a/c in some rooms--the area gets quite cool in the evening) and mosquito nets in all bedrooms, 5 comfortable beds, freshly laundered towels, and an infinity swimming pool. You can either walk or drive to the nearby beach (5 minutes away) and see the locals enjoying the breeze and catching fish. A bustling and friendly fishing town (Chilaw) is just 12 minutes away from our property. Here, you can experience the local shops, cafes, restaurants, modern supermarkets, and traditional fish and vegetable markets. There are also 2 modern hotels nearby where you could get meals if you would like. During your stay, Desh and Vasana will look after your needs (from 7am to 9pm daily) as they live in a small house within the property. Kitchen is not open to guests. You can either eat out or request food from Vasana. Other things to note We have a Wi-Fi connection sufficient for emails and limited internet use. Like anywhere in Sri Lanka there are wild insects including mosquitoes, flies, beetles, and etc. Remember to bring mosquito repellents. Although you can bring kids to the property, our place is not necessarily friendly for kids as we are surrounded by water and we have a pool. Your own caution is absolutely required and it is your responsibility to look after your kids. We consider our caretakers, Desh and Vasana, to be part of our family.
