After being Super Hosts for over a decade...We're Back! Helene' made a mess of one of our mountains while barely touching the other. Fortunately the long range panoramic views Helene' opened were worth the effort it took to clear the downed trees from the miles of hiking trails. The untouched mountain provides an interesting before and after contrast to the power of Mother Nature, along with the amazing pace of her recovery. In many ways our woods are prettier than ever. "Life will find a Way!" The space Relax in your comfortable, UN-shared 700+ square foot suite located on the main floor of our one story home on 33 acres. Less than 15 minutes from Asheville. Suitable for a couple or one person, with its comfortable Queen bed. Your own bathroom/shower and of course your own private Living room with its long range sunset view over the French Broad River Valley. Be sure to click on photos to see more. Should you feel like stretching your legs there are miles of hiking trails just outside your private entrance. Stroll through Sharon’s flower and vegetable gardens. Follow the stream up the mountain. Relax sitting on a comfortable swing as you enjoy the mountain view and let the sight & sound of the babbling brook carry your cares away. You’re still only 200 yards from the house...if you would like to indulge yourself with a longer walk in the woods...there are more unique “pretty places” and more swings/benches along miles of private hiking trails. Of course we’re also happy to share information on the many hikes we know in nearby National Forests. Including Mount Mitchell and Craggy Dome...a short, beautiful drive away on the Blue Ridge Parkway...which reopened from Mount Mitchell to Cherokee on September 16, 2025. When you've had enough of the woods (if that’s possible) you are 10 miles from Downtown Asheville, best known for its diverse restaurants, breweries, interesting night life, fabulous music, art galleries, street musicians, Southern hospitality and eclectic vibe. You are also less than 3 miles to the quaint, artsy town of Weaverville and its interesting eateries. Of course healthy breakfast offerings of homemade muffins/coffee cake, cereals, etc. are available in your living room each morning. Even though we live and work from the home you will find all the privacy you desire. Interaction is based on wants and needs of the guest. Check in is generally after 2pm and checkout is by 12pm. Ask me if this doesn't work for you...I'm flexible on this if we don't have guests arriving. Guest access WiFi 2 Bedrooms, one for sleeping, the other has a mini refrigerator, a small microwave that's handy for heating up the tasty left overs from Asheville and Weaverville restaurants. Also has a toaster and a electric teapot. A coffee pot and ground coffee is located in the breakfast nook in the livingroom. If your car sits low to the ground driving up it may be a bit of a challenge, but it's easier than you think. In the winter if it snows you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get in and out.
