This superior beach bungalow is part of Al Natural Resort, it is located on a small secluded safe swimming beach in Bastimentos island, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation and close to Bastimentos National Marine Park. There are only 7 bungalows which makes the place very private and exclusive. The rate includes transfers from Bocas airport and the return to the town of Bocas at set time, three delicious daily meals, wine with dinner and free use of the kayaks, SUP and snorkel equipment. The space Between jungle and sea, Al Natural Resort is a comfortable and private retreat, perfectly integrated into the lush tropical environment. Al Natural is an authentic boutique eco-resort resort. It elegantly combines the ancestral craftsmanship of the Ngobe-Bugle Indians with new technologies that allow us to harvest energy from the sun and limit our impact on the ecosystem. In order to provide each guest with maximum privacy, it is our goal to maintain an intimate scale for the resort; there are only seven beach bungalows, each of a different size and unique in design (with a capacity of 2 to 6 persons). All the bungalows are stilt houses and are situated right on the beach. They provide occupants with uninterrupted views of the water and surrounding flora and fauna. The front part of the bungalow is open to the sea and the back is enclosed with 3/4 high walls. If you want to close the bungalows, it is very easy as they are equipped with canvas curtains. All beds have orthopedic mattresses and custom-made no see-um mosquito nettings. All bungalows are equipped with a hammock, reading chairs and a coffee table, as well as a locker and a safe for valuables. Each bungalow is unique, and is composed of a terrace, private bathroom with hot and cold water, good lighting powered by a 12 volt solar powered electrical system. This superior bungalow is called a Superior Natural House and it offers a king sized bed, a very efficient ceiling fan, a lounge chair on the terrace and a bathroom with hot water. Our professional kitchen is run by our Chef Vincent, who is from Belgium, with the help of our highly trained local staff. All meals are based on fresh local product and are served family style in which guests are seated together along a beautiful 15 feet long hardwood table in our new restaurant bar, built in the traditional Ngobe-bugle style and overlooking the sparkling water of the lagoon. Our 3 course gourmet dinner combines Creole & Belgian flavors, our meals are based on the catch of the day, we are one of the few places in the archipelago who offer fresh daily fish. We buy our fishes from the local fisherman who pass in front of our restaurant when they come back from the open sea with their catches. For example, a typical start to the meal may be a delicious fresh tuna carpaccio topped with lime, avocado, onions and saffron, which is then followed by an entrée consisting of the day’s fresh catch of fish, lobster or shrimp with tasty sauce. We do also offer a special honeymoon or anniversary night. It includes a special five courses gourmet diner served in the most romantic setting: the bohio built at the end of our dock. You eat there in complete intimacy with candle lights, facing the sunset; the dinner is accompanied by tropical aperitif, champagne, white and red wines. Except special requests, you will have the opportunity to try many dishes made of the best local fresh seafood and fishes. Guest access The surrounding area of the resort is beautiful, very peaceful. The beach in front of the bungalow is made of very fine sand, it is fine to stroll or play racket ball. Due to recent climate changes, the beach can be narrow at some point depending on the tide and sea level. Very attractive wider large stretches of beach can be found very close by, strolling down the same beach. Swimming in the lagoon in front of Al Natural is always safe. There is other beaches around the point, wilder and more exposed to the waves of the Caribbean sea that you can walk to. At Al Natural, you can explore the reefs just in front of your bungalow, by yourself by swimming from the beach or by using the kayaks of the resort and the snorkel equipment, or with our boat that will take you to the best snorkel spots in the archipelago (Zapatillas islands, corral Keys, and other secret spots). Also, there is the large idyllic white sand beaches of Zapatillas islands that is very attractive. As far as I know, we are the only one who organizes various trekking along the beaches of Bastimentos. There are also boat tours through several mangrove rivers with a visit to the Indian villages of Salt Creeks, to Dolphin Bay, to Red Frog Beach or to Bastimentos town. Please note that you are welcome to go along for $10.00 p.p. with any of our already scheduled trip to Bocas. We are at the best spot to offer the most exclusive dives in the whole archipelago; indeed, we are the only dive operator in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro who offers regularly dives to the protected waters and reefs around the Zapatillas Cays in the National Marine Park where many impressive wall dives and caves can be explored when the sea allows it, and who offers them at a competitive price due to our location, as we are far away from Bocas, but closest to the best dive sites and the Bastimentos National Marine Park. Al Natural and its lagoon is a great and safe place to do a Discovery Dive and experience fort the first time the magic of the underwater world. All diving need to be booked in ADVANCE, at least two weeks. Thank you to make sure to indicate to us your arrival and departure info as soon as you know it. Domestic airline tickets can be bought at Air Panama. If no availability, please make sure to call Air Panama, they do speak English or to contact us for help. In order to limit our carbon footprint, please note that we are trying to do only one trip per day between Bocas and the hotel. We try to have only one boat leaving Bocas between 11:00 and 12:00 every day. Most people do opt for the a morning flight which takes you to Bocas before noon. We organize the pick-up at the airport and will take you to the Al Natural Landing in Bocas town where you can leave your luggage. Shall you choose an afternoon plane arrival, or if you miss our morning boat, just indicate us your arrival time to us and we will set an extra boat transfer for you; we charge for an afternoon boat transfer an extra cost of $70.00 for the trip. Our afternoon boat leaves Bocas between 4:00 and 4:30 PM. On your departing day from Al Natural, we try to have only one boat leaving the hotel Al Natural any time between 8:00 and 9:30 am, depending on the guests’ schedule requirement. Shall you need a morning boat at another moment, we will set it up, the extra cost of $70.00. Should you choose to leave the hotel in the afternoon, please note that 1- the afternoon transfer leaves the hotel between 1:00PM and 2:30PM, depending on the guests schedule requirement and has no extra cost; 2- that if you have arrived in the morning and leave in the afternoon, there is an extra cost of $15.00 p.p. for the lunch on your departing day which is not included in your daily package; and 3- the check-out time of the bungalow is no later than 11:00 am if the bungalow is rented the day you leave and that the guests are arriving in the morning. For your convenience, there is a place where you can leave belongings, change cloth and take a shower at the resort. If this schedule above does not fit your own, please note that sometime we are able to offer you an afternoon arrival and/or early morning departure without the extra cost (when we do not have to do our regular morning boat transfer that day). The trip is very pleasant and lasts about 45 minutes in the waters of the Bastimentos Marine National Park through mangrove islands. FYI, please note that the office/landing of Al Natural is easy to find in Bocas. It is a two-story wooden house in construction located on the water side of the main street, five houses down after the ferry dock and the Hotel Bahia, just next to the hotel Divers Paradise. There are signs and photo of the hotel on the house. Other things to note Please note that as our rate includes three daily meals for each person, it is very important to put the CORRECT NUMBER OF GUESTS who will be staying in the bungalow in your reservation request as the total offered rate to be paid for your stay will change according to how many persons will be staying in the bungalow. Insect repellents and light rainwear are also good items to take for a carefree tropical vacation. Please note that we provide beach mats, but no beach towels. In our aim to avoid using single use plastic items, we have decided not to use anymore single use plastic bottles while we go on tours and at the hotel, hence, we are asking if you could equip yourself with a refill water bottle, we provide the fresh drinking water! Please note that we are organizing our special Christmas dinner on the eve of December 24th. This is a four courses gourmet dinner accompanied by champagne and specially selected red and white wines. There is a supplement of $70.00 per adult for this feast ($35.00 per child), all taxes included. This evening is always a great success, full of fun and good food. This year, we will have our special dinner feast and music for our guests and friends. It is going to be a very fun party. The evening starts with a friendly aperitif time (mixed drinks, beers, wine and soft drinks). After, we will be serving our New Year gourmet dinner, a multi-courses feast, with white and red wine. We will serve local champagne and cracks fireworks. The bar is serving until the evening is over. We will be dancing after the dinner.
