Koraya Lodge - Bungalow 1 with panoramic sea view

Koraya Lodge is set along a vast turquoise lagoon on the south-southwest coast of Rodrigues. Our bungalow is self-catering and beds 4 guests. Bedroom and loft have comfortable double beds. The lodge is nicely decorated and offers the charm of traditional veranda-living with simple luxury that is adapted to Rodrigues - a unique atmosphere for you to get away, rest and rediscover everyday essentials. Welcome! The space An hour and fifteen minutes by plane from the main island of Mauritius and 15 minutes from the airport by car, Koraya Lodge offers intimate accommodation in three separate buildings - two bungalows and a villa. They are all offered in a traditional colonial style. Our bungalow is 50 square meters and offers independent and intimate accommodation. The ground floor consists of a bedroom with a double bed, shower and toilet, and a common space- kitchen/dining/living room that opens onto a veranda overlooking the lagoon. The other double bed is placed on a mezzanine that overlooks the common room. The mezzanine is accessed by climbing an alternate tread wooden staircase. The bungalow is furnished in a traditional and island style, combining the charm of living in a veranda and a simple luxury, adapted to Rodrigues Island. Built in a garden of endemic trees and shrubs, Koraya Lodge shows its back to ancient quarries of calcarenite, while gazing at a panoramic view of the lagoon and its numerous islets. The lagoon is a stone cast away. Even though you can swim in it, there is no sandy beach in front of the Koraya Lodge. This is because the lodge is located on calcarenite, as is the case for much of the coast of Rodrigues marked by astonishing sandstones formed by the consolidation of limestone sand. Other things to note Rodrigues is approximately 108 square kilometers, is located 100 kms northeast of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Approximately 40.000 people live on the island. French and Creole are widely used and English is secondary. Rodrigues is a year-round destination, with opposite seasons to Europe. You do not have any mandatory vaccinations to visit the island. The local currency is Mauritian Rupee (MUR). There are banks and ATMs on the main road through major villages like La Ferme, Mont Lubin and in the capital city Port Mathurin. Gas stations are located in three places on the island, at Grand-la-Fouche Corail which is 5 minutes from the lodge, at Mont Lubin and in the capital.
