Nice home on quiet historic 5th Street SE. We are within walking distance of Lenoir-Rhyne University and downtown, and only minutes from everything else in Hickory. The space We offer a private 2 bedroom, 1 bath, suite in the finished attic space/2nd floor of a 1940's built home. The attic space was remodeled in the 70's, but used very little. The space is vintage 70's decor with a hip retro feel! Side porch and patio are available for relaxing outside. It is a quiet and relaxing space in which to spend your time in Hickory! Guest access You will be given a 4 digit code to access the electronic lock. You will enter into the common area living room and cross to hidden bookcase door marked "AirBNB Welcome to our Home!" Note: Owner's kitchen is not available for use. We do provide a microwave, small refrigerator, and a coffee maker in the guest space upstairs. Note: This listing is unfortunately NOT suitable for children: *Stairs in private area are potential for children to fall. No child gate option. *Emergency egress from roof door provides no safety railing. Children may accidentally access this area because it can be unlocked for emergency escape. *Exterior conditions cannot be considered free from hazards and completely safe for child play. We are within walking distance of several GREAT restaurants and bars on the square downtown! Not into walking? No problem! The Uber, Lyft, orTaxi ride downtown will cost you just a few bucks! Smoking is allowed on patio ONLY! The upstairs door is for emergencies ONLY. The flat roof has no safety rails, so can NOT be used in anyway. Furthermore, the rubber roof material is not suitable for foot traffic and can be easily damaged. We have 3 dogs. However, dogs will be confined to owner's private space in house. You will not need to interact with them at all as you enter the house to proceed to guest's private area. Although, you will (most likely) hear them bark when you arrive as they alert when someone comes on property. But don't worry, they are quiet at night. Owner's kitchen is not available for use.
